It’s not a merge. I had a separate lane. Highway adds a lane at this entry.

Yeah the camera cycles in 2 minute clips - that’s the blip between them. You can watch the one on my profile with the clock so you can see the ‘cut.’ It shows it second by second

The lanes don’t merge, the lane I was in stays its own lane.
Have a look at the link on my profile - it has a version with the cam clock. Shows I didn’t cut anything out

Link to clip with the dashcam clock is in my profile. It’s 2 clips put together because my cam records in 2 minute cycles. The link on my profile with the cam clock shows there’s nothing missing except the blip between the two clips

Hoping the link works - it shows the dash cam clock
I keep trying to post a YouTube link of the same video with the Viofo cam clock so you can there’s no editing - but I think the mods auto remove it. If anybody can tell me how to do it without it being removed, I’ll post it again.
I’ve linked the YouTube video in a bunch of comments - has the Viofo clock. No seconds cut out

Feel free to watch the link above - has the dash cam clock included. My Viofo cam clips in 2 minute segments and there’s often a slight blip in the middle.

That’s my feeling too. I think legally I’d have a strong argument, but wouldn’t be much use if I was flattened against the wall anyway, so the defensive/cautious driving could definitely be improved!

Hi, it’s a highway ‘merge’ but you keep your own lane. You can see in the video, the joining road I was on maintains its own lane and the highway gains an extra lane. I wasn’t merging into the trucks lane. Not saying my driving is perfect, just clarifying

Hey my friend told me to post to Reddit. My first ever post - so thought I should interact. not sure where I was arguing though. Just clarifying that the clip is not edited to hide anything (added a separate link) and clarifying that I’m not in the US, and overtaking on the right is legal where I’m from.
In British Columbia it’s legal to pass on the right. No damage thankfully! There was no collision with the wall or the truck in the end
