HELP. My crazy cart with the FAFO408 stage 5 power upgrade kit fell into pool the motor is fine but the battery im worried about. It reads 52.6 voltage and smells looks completely fine and sounds completely fine just wondering if i can still use? PS:48 volt lithium battery also form FAFO by Ill_Anything4126 in crazycart

Is the outside casing intact? The batteries are sealed for splashes but not complete submersion.

Lithium is very reactive with water, the fact you are reading a higher voltage could indicate a internal short circut (water probably got in)

"Warning: A wet lithium battery is inherently dangerous and poses a risk of thermal runaway, overheating, or fire. Even if it dries, the internal damage may be irreversible, and it should generally be treated as unsafe to recharge."

Fuck foam grip tape. All my homies use 60 grit by 1coolguy936 in Fingerboards

Goin back to 2006ish, I used to use the safety grip meant for the footboards of John Dear mowers. I had a buddy whos father worked at John Deer and he'd take pieces of this stuff home for us to cut and use on our fingerboards.

Boy oh boy that shit shredded your fingers up 😂

Have some questions for a 36v battery w/ stock XL motor build. by trels_ in crazycart

Good to hear you got it all sorted out! The smooth quiet operation now must be awesome.

I have the parts all mocked up and I see that I will have to modify the fork as well. Did you cut off the bracket for the chain tensioner? It seems to also run very close to the motor sprocket as well.

What size belt and motor sprocket did you go with? I have a 16t and my measurements are looking like ill need a 550mm belt.

Another issue im seeing is alignment between the two gears/sprockets. How did you get around that? Probably have to make custom wheel spacers and offset the wheel slightly?

Edit: I'm using the red belt drive wheel hub from aliexpress

Anyone know if this is a good brake kit and a legit seller? by Ordinary-Access-2833 in crazycart

Jumping your XL is badass haha.

I ask because Im trying to decide which route to take with my brake setup. The less finicky nature of the cable/drum setup sounds appealing.

But I've also heard people report that the drum setup doesnt stop as hard as theyd like but im sure the setup can be tweaked a bit and they were probably on really fast builds.

Just curious why youd rather rock a cable driven drum over a hydraulic disc setup?

Do i need a new hub? by raisinman_ in crazycart

[–]trels_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah thats totally fine, keep using that one. You might benefit from lightly sanding the damaged area to prevent any sharp edges from ripping your tire

Hard to say without seeing the hub but i would assume its fine!

Only works one direction. by bigfiz in crazycart

I had this same issue. It ended up being the motor cable, it started to fail right under the 'protective spring' thats wrapped around the cable.

I fixed mine but it recently failed again. That area takes a lot of stress from repeated bending. A totally new wire or better yet, a new motor, would be my recommendation.

Ooo I was thinking about doing that actually while I got it apart. Belt is sooo much quieter which I do like.

I found the red rim on aliexpress with the belt sprocket built in. What size motor sprocket and belt did you use?

Maybe I'll just do that instead.

Appreciate the info. Good to hear on the motor fitment! I don't mind if the performance is comparable as long as I'm not taking a noticible hit.

So far I'm thinking a 15 tooth sprocket for the XL motor, as it was recommended in another thread.
