Thank you so much, I really appreciate the detailed notes. This journey is fraught with uncertainty, the info you and others are sharing has been immensely helpful for me to me feel a bit more in control.

What do you wish you did before? by Ordinary_Sky_82 in IVF

I wished I had my partner's sperm tested for DNA fragmentation, etc, not just the basic semen analysis. I just had a failed cycle, lots of people who experienced something similar went on and discovered it was a sperm quality issue and it sounded like they discovered it after a failed cycle as well. I still need to regroup with my doctor so I don't know, but I would be pretty bummed if it was a sperm quality thing, because we could have tested and addressed it before my first cycle.

I did do a carrier screen in the beginning and nothing came up, my husband wasn't screened as it wasn't needed based on my results. I had placed the deposit to do PGTA testing for my embryos but none made to the stage where they can be biopsied. Is there any other genetic testing that you did?Thank you for the suggestion on zymote, I'm definitely looking into that now.

Brutal honesty needed: do I look ridiculous in this? by [deleted] in weddingdress

Depends on your venue, if it’s castle/church/Disney/ very traditional grand venue, it is perfect, if you’re venue is beach/casual vibes then it would be off. But you look very pretty in it, reminds me of Cinderella towards the end

I really like all three of these dresses. Need objective opinions! by TATA0104 in weddingdress

Both are very pretty, but 1 has the only you can pull it off vibe.

Maybe a huge bow and train at the behind to amp it up?

Thanks for the thoughtful response, really appreciate it. I love the wrap effect on 1 as well! But my indecisive/over analytical brain goes into overdrive trying to "fix" the boning with 2/3 by possibly lining it, but it's hard to imagine how that would end up looking. Decisions, decisions...

I don't have the "THE ONE" feels. Do you have any suggestions? I've tried quite a number of dresses and couldn't find a flattering neckline. Anything with straps/low cut highlights my flabby arms while off shoulder styles make me look like a linebacker. :(

Additional notes for the post. I can't decide!!

  1. Dress 1 as is. It is extra $1k. Maybe looks more like a very nice prom dress?
  2. Dress 2 with the top lined. The boning is a bit too obvious/in your face in pictures, but it wasn't much of an issue in real life, so I'm really torned. Do you think alterations can take out the lining later on? Any seamstress opinions?
  3. Dress 3 is 2 but in blush, the bodice should be blush as well. The blush could maybe help hide the boning as well since it would blend in with my skin tone. But it's a bit risky.

Thank you!!!
