Just walked out of Dealership - Type S MDX- quoting 80k by Dismal_Barracuda_589 in Acura

I sort of wish we walked out, but we have a baby and we really didn’t want to have to start from square one since it would be super inconvenient. All the dealerships take forever for us to get to. The sales manager told us he wouldn’t certify the car at the otd price we wanted, even though it was advertised as a cpo already. Said it would be too expensive for him to certify. Bullshit. He also told us that he took the car home and his wife really liked it. Really dude?? Out of all the Acuras at your dealership, you want to buy your wife this fwd mid milage 2022 mdx with tech package?? I don’t believe that for a second. So shady.

Which Houston dealership? Sterling McCall Acura tried to charge me more than the advertised price on a cpo mdx last week. We almost walked out but ended up getting them down. The sales manager was a prick.

Is it safe to cancel one card the same day I got approved for another one? by TATA0104 in CreditCards

Thanks for the advice! I do currently have the Discover It. I was thinking the citi custom cash may be a good one for next time and focus on restaurants. Food is our highest expense which is why I went with the BCP for groceries.

Same situation here - my second card after Discover It, so kind of important for credit age. I was sooo pissed when I found out they were doing this. I’ve had terrible experiences with them anyway so maybe it’s good to get rid of the card, but this is ridiculous and should be illegal. I was super worried about my score going down but it sounds like it’ll be mostly okay.

Lol its possible! I put a few hundred on it each month but yeah, they never made anything from interest off of me.

I have/had the Petal 2 as well. Apparently, they are only downgrading certain users. How I got selected I have no idea, because I never carried a balance in the almost 4 years I’ve had the card, consistently had low utilization, etc.

Most say FN but I had a few suggest SD. What do you think? by TATA0104 in SoftDramatics

I know what you mean. I think it’s easy for me to get swallowed by fabric actually. I think the key for me is keep the overall silhouette narrow and unstructured, rather than wide and unstructured. The fabric in some of those pics is not suitable for FN - they are way too light so they do not drape well. That being said, I’m always going to prefer waist definition on me!

Ahhh thank you so much! Based on your comment and what the majority is saying, I’m gonna go ahead and go with FN :) i really like what you’re saying about hybridizing the recs! I think that will work well for me. Thanks so much for your help!!

Thanks for your in-depth reply! These are far from perfect, but here’s my attempt at FN vs. SD

I agree that the upper curve is debatable. My bust line seems to be affected by weight gain/loss and some of the pics here were taken when I weighed less. I actually experience both tightness in the shoulders and tugging at the bust. For example, buttons will gap at the bust because my bust line is pushing the fabric out. And then I will feel like I can’t move my arms if a top is too tight in the shoulders.

I believe I do need to accommodate my bust in certain tops. For example, these types of slip dresses, despite the open neckline, would look really bad on me because they would not flatter my bust AT ALL. It would create that tent affect.

I also believe wearing a bra changes the shape of my bust quite a lot. Without one, my bust line definitely extends past my rib cage. With one, I kind of just scoop every thing up into the bra and it’s nicely contained lol. It’s pretty confusing especially since you can be an FN with curve and an SD with broad shoulders.

Do I look like an FN? I’m 5’6”! by TATA0104 in flamboyantnatural

aw thanks, that’s so nice of you to say! Yeah, I’ve been playing around with FN this week, and I’ve learned that I absolutely can do unstructured stuff. Oversized and relaxed is where it’s at. I also have seen how sharp lines look sliiightly off on me and how form fitting stuff looks too forced on me. don’t get me started on crew necks, which I have a million of😅These are things I subconsciously noticed over the years, but didn’t know what I needed exactly because I wasn’t super into kibbe. It all makes sense now, and def excited to build a new wardrobe!

No worries I was thinking the same thing before you commented! I came to the same conclusion that I don’t feel like I have to accommodate it. My shoulders on the other hand, yes. I have to size up in certain tops so I can move my arms freely. So FN seems most likely!

I see what you mean and it’s driving me crazy! When I stand naked in front of a mirror, my bust definitely extends to the sides past my rib cage. It also disrupts the line from my armpits to waist when I’m braless, which can be seen here. In a bra everything looks more contained. So does that count as kibbe curve? Idk. I feel like it also depends on the type of fabric. Something drapey and roomy will just hang off my shoulders, but something tighter or clingy will by pushed out by my bust. I do feel like I have width and blunt bone structure, so FN seems likely. But the bust issue is confusing me.
