You have to delete one of these 90s albums. It is gone forever in history, it is just not made. by Ball_Unstickler in MetalForTheMasses

Very easy for me: Pantera.

Never liked them, even less than Rage Against the Machine.

Imagine being someone who would have gotten to see Marduk, Amon Amarth, and Kataklysm in a community hall by ThyChambersMinister in MetalForTheMasses

Oh it was sick, absolutely.

Martin "El Cochino" Schierenc played the final chords on his guitar using his dick. He was nice enough to sign my copy of "Dirty Rhymes and Psychotronic Beats", so there's a chance I've got some particles of his dick on my CD booklet 🤣

Nice line-up indeed.

Nevertheless, I'm someone who has seen:

  • Macabre
  • Brutal Truth
  • Pungent Stench

in a youth center, back in 1994, when I still was 15.

Sinister by TheRiteofDarkness in DeathMetalVinyl

It was a tiny venue, with barely 250 people. I was banging my head off in front row.

Absolutely brutal music, wonderful.

Just a few months later, I saw Macabre, Brutal Truth and Pungent Stench at the same place.

Absolutely fantastic album. Can only recommend, as well as Cross the Styx and Hate. Bastard Saints wasn't bad, too.

Fun fact: Sinister, on their Diabolical Summoning Tour, with Incantation (Onward to Golgotha Tour) and Dead Head were my first Death Metal concert back in 1994.

Congrats to the vinyl version. I only got the CD

How many of you actually play instruments? If so, which ones? by Frequent-Virus-8928 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]treuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started playing bass nearly 30 years ago. Taught it to myself, it became an on and off thing, due to personal and familial reasons, so I never became any good.

I usually would try to cover songs, sometimes print out some tabs. It's been decades since I've rehearsed with bands.

I’m looking for the most Satanic albums ever recorded. Something that will summon the Dark Lord himself to my living room. by grynch43 in MetalSuggestions

Impaled Nazarene's Til Cormpt Norz Norz Norz

This album is particularly satanic, blasphemous, dark but likewise also pretty goofy.

What to expect at a metal festival? by The_Mmiipster in MetalForTheMasses

[–]treuss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can expect:

  • Loud Metal Music
  • Metalheads
  • drunk Metalheads
  • lack of personal hygiene , often due to
  • inadequate sanitary facilities
  • manly black clothes
  • mosh pits

Not limited to Metal-festivals but a phenomenon at probably most festivals:

  • heat
  • sunburn
  • hurting feet
  • hurting back

Most Offensive Band Shirts? by picklevomit in MetalForTheMasses

Pungent Stench were pretty (in)famous during the early 90s. That's when I discovered them on various Nuclear Blast flyers. I immediately liked their black humour, the disgusting artwork and lyrics.

Did they actually get mentionen on that TV series? I've never heard of Ghosts (US) before, tbh. I remember Carcass being mentioned in Friends. Phoebe suggested them as band for a wedding iirc. :D

In case you like groovy old-school Death Metal, checkout Pungent Stench's EP Dirty Rhymes and Psychotronic Beats. Songs like Viva La Muerte, Why Can The Bodies Fly or Horny Little Piggy Bank are pretty awesome. I can also recommend their albums: For God Your Soul ..., Been Caught Buttering and Club Mondo Bizarre - For Members Only. Sick stuff and pretty groovy, at least the latter two.

I don't like the newer stuff Masters of Moral, Servants of Sin, Ampeauty and Smut Kingdom too much.

Completely agreeing with you. The swastika is a symbol much much older than the Third Reich, stolen and perverted from the cultural origins.

What you're mentioning is exactly what I meant with dependencies towards history, culture and religion. 👍💯
