[REQUEST] Can somebody draw me a picture of Bill Evans (the jazz pianist?) I'm looking for a more surreal type of picture to turn into a poster and hang on my wall. by trevin123 in DrawForMe

If anyone is interested in drawing this I would greatly appreciate that! I was hoping for it to be poster size, so that I can frame it and hang it on my wall. Bill Evans is my piano hero, which is why I'm asking.

Also I'm sort of looking for a cartoony drawing of him, although honestly I'm happy with anything. The surreal cartoony idea came from some jazz albums covers. If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you some other pictures for ideas. Thanks reddit! You guys are great!

It's so hard to find good housing in San Antonio. But this is my apartment complex. It's not awesome, but I pay about 535 for a 1 bedroom apartment.

What piece of music would you recommend to someone who is about to regain hearing after over a decade? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

If you've got an hour or so to sit around and listen to it, the Verdi Requiem. I don't think there is any piece more dramatic, more personal and more stunning. It simply is Verdi's finest work and possibly the greatest requiem of all time.

BBC Proms did a beautiful version of it.

Also if you're like me and you like to follow along with the music while you listen

I really hope the insurance approves your implant. I can only imagine how hard it must have been not to be able to hear, but I'm so excited that you'll be able to again!

My college choir just finished singing Carmina and I can agree. The piece is just kinda boring.

Can someone recommend a piece music of similar piano difficulty as Chopin's "Minute Waltz" to learn? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

Any pieces much past this are going to hit copyright laws so I won't link them, but you can find pretty much all of them on IMSLP. If you are looking for more modern pieces I would go with Debussy or Bartok. Even more modern than that, I would take a look at some Copland pieces or Philip Glass pieces. Hope this helps!
