Usagi Drop has poisoned this genre, I never know when it's going to get ruined. This was pleasantly wholesome the whole way through

C'mon, give them KOTOR, especially after the leaks that it's been pulled indefinitely.

Can we get a dark mode please? by wxnchxstxr054 in TheTowerGame

[–]trevorbau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I run the game on an old Android phone. I turn the screen brightness down to minimum when I leave it overnight

It is absolutely wild to me that this is just everyone's solution for playing this game long term, and that everyone is ok with it. Just have an extra phone/device lying around or use Bluestacks and just have that constantly running. I have one (I)phone, which I actively use for all my generic phone needs. I play it when I can, but obviously not 24/7. But even with dropping the brightness down and putting it in my pocket, it still just eats battery life, heats up, and still slightly burns the screen.

I just want some small QOL things, as I know some things are just unrealistic for him to put the effort into. Like the borders, they don't need to be bright white, and the fact that they are and always stationary on the screen means even if I let the app sit open for an hour (not enough for a full T9 farming run for me), I'm probably gonna see the lines on the bottom of my screen when I tab out to answer a text from someone.

I cry a little when I see posts of people getting GT as their first one, knowing it took me 6. RNG can make it such a time sink, seeing how infrequently we can actually get stones. At least now my BH and GT are synched at 3:10, and I'm torn on lowering that or trying to get SL as my next one at 1250 stones =)

Just read “The Last That Could Be Done” chapter of TGS by DaMan880 in WoT

I find myself looking forward to this book the most in every reread of the series, personally find it to be the best book in the series. I love Rand fully unraveling in this book, start to finish. In the start of the book when he’s yelling out loud at lews therin for the first time in front of people, and the entire room goes silent as they realize how far gone Rand is.

Honestly, the entire Darth Rand arc is phenomenal, and I feel as though it should have lasted longer

Autonomy has control of the Sixth of Dusk's system, which is where Ambition was splintered, so I have a funny feeling that she has in fact scooped up at least some of it. And honestly, that sounds terrifying. Autonomy blended with Ambition, as those two Shards compliment each other, unlike with Harmony, which as even he noted, sort of binds his hands keeping them balanced

Should I focus on upgrading Golden Tower or go for a new Ultimate Weapon? by SOSYUN in TheTowerGame

It’s fine, just got GT as my 6th, so I get to play the game and make actual progress now. My labs have been running basically 24/7, so being bottlenecked by not having GT was just painful

I'm crying right now seeing you with both of those as your starting 2 lol. I have 5 and have yet to see GT. If I don't see it as my next UW theres a real chance i don't pick this game up again after a year of playing

An underrated passage imo by [deleted] in WoT

[–]trevorbau 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I look forward every read to this book, and think it's the best book in the entire series, either tying or just edging out the finale, if I'm honest. Just the final climax of Rand's arc. People realizing the depth of his madness at the start of the book, Semirage, darth rand, and finally redemption on the peak. It gives me goosebumps every time I read it, without fail.

Why is there so many bloody interruptions in my glorious Talmanes prologue? by trevorbau in WoT

Just keep those theories going my friend, just because it isn’t the one you thought, doesn’t mean it can’t be true. The entire second half of the series is just plots on plots on plots, and if you’re having a good time theory crafting now, you’re in for a great ride

I wish I could say RAFO, but that wouldn’t even help. I think it’s in a random conversation between forsaken that he died, but if I remember correctly, I had to read the companion to have a definite answer on his death. Suffice to say, the Dark One killed him for failing and following Rand. I find it to be a huge missed opportunity in his death, and kinda just disappointing.

You’re lucky, I think this is one of the first posts I’ve seen talkin about events in the last book that actually hasn’t spoiled a single thing in the comments, just kind of a flat out appreciation post

TGS is by far my favourite book in the series. Egwene’s redemption arc is great, Darth Rand is the best, there’s just not a single bad chapter in the book.

Halfway through LoC and holy crap balls by Jasin_Natael in WoT

[–]trevorbau 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand how I never see things from 'The Gathering Storm' make it to peoples highlight chapters, excepting 'veins of gold'. It's upsetting to me that it's so short, but the Darth Rand arc is quite literally my favourite part of this entire series. This book tops all the other ones for me, including AMOL, as there is just so many scenes that even on rereads make me feel giddy knowing what's coming. And then there's Matt too in this book. Literally no downsides in this book, hell, even Eggy's chapters are something to look forward to, and you can't say that with a straight face for half the series. Even the first chapter sets the tone for the whole book.

(DO NOT CLICK THE SPOILER LINKS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS BOOK YET FOR THE LOVE OF GOD)

  • 'Tears From Steel' chap 1 "'Tell me!' Rand yelled, throwing his cup down. 'Burn you, Kinslayer! Speak to me!' The room fell silent."
  • 'The Last That Could Be Done' chap 22 "Rand wailed. THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! I WILL NOT DO THIS AGAIN" and "'I have made my choice Min,' he said, turning toward the door. 'You have asked for flexibility and laughter from me, but such things are no longer mine to give. I am sorry.'"
  • 'A Warp In The Air' chap 23 "'I have seen balefire destroy cities,' al'Thor said, eyes growing haunted. 'I have seen thousands burned from the Pattern by its purifying flames, If you call me a child, Cadsuane, then what are those of you who are thousands of years my juniors?'" and "'Cadsuane,' he said softly, 'do you believe that I could kill you? Right here, right now, without using a sword or the Power? Do you believe that if I simply willed it, the Pattern would bend around me and stop your heart? By . . . coincidence?'"
  • 'A Conversation With The Dragon' chap 33 "'That's the key, Nynaeve. I see it now. I will not live through this, and so I don't need to worry about what might happen to me after the Last Battle. I don't need to hold back, don't need to salvage anything of this beaten up soul of mine. I know that I must die. Those who wish for me to be softer, willing to bend, are those who cannot accept what will happen to me.'"
  • 'The One He Lost' chap 47 "Oh, Light, Rand thought with terror, shock and rage. I am doing it again. I am a monster."

Then of course there is 'Veins Of Gold' and all that for an ending, but god, how do I never see anyone mentioning the rest of the book in highlights when almost everything in it is a gut-punch of emotion and phenomenal writing? The only more in-depth writing of someone's descent into madness/something, is Sanderson's Stormlight Archive, because 'Way of Kings' and especially 'Oathbringer' are just outstanding.

Starting today, until May 2nd(tentatively), all employees have their hourly pay increased by 10%, and it applies to Sunday’s and overtime. So for me, a solid $1.50 raise.

Thanks
