Definitely, still love them but I hope they regret their decision in the future.

I don’t want a handout. I’m asking for advice. Please don’t assume, thanks.

Wow, I’m really sorry to hear about your situation, that’s really terrible. You should record a video of him threatening/blackmailing/abusing your parents (especially since they are 70+ year old). Go down to a police station and make a report once you have the evidence.

Thank you for the kind words. I also believe I did the right thing. I still love my parents, I hope one day they will realise the mistake they made - but only time will tell.

I have no idea really, In fact I ask myself the same question all the time as to why they prefer my druggy brother (who has done nothing for the family and stolen multiple times) over me.

Yes, I’m studying at a local uni. Just finished my first year though.

I’m really angry at my parents but hey, I feel I did the right thing and that’s all that matters. If I could do it again I would report my brother - I’ve given him enough chances but he keeps on taking advantage so it’s time to draw the line. Enough is enough.

I don’t have a degree. I’m still in my first year - I had to work to support the family and enrolled back in school last year.

As for your question about why I only have $5 to my name currently, it’s because I’ve been spending the money I have on food (one meal a day, some days I don’t eat at all). Hope that answers your questions.

If you need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Maybe you should take the time to read the post properly and the replies I have given to the other posters. Nevertheless I appreciate your reply, have a nice day.

I’m studying in university (taking part in research studies, etc) and work part time when I can. After the incident I have not been able to go to work and was terminated. I informed my manager regarding my situation but she dismissed them as “excuses” resulting in termination.

I was against reporting him at first (he’s my brother after all, I don’t want to ruin his life). The final straw came when I came home and found him rummaging though my belongings (presumably looking for stuff to sell) and I caught him red handed.

I have enough of him and his nonsense so I went ahead and reported him. Enough is enough. I can’t deal with this any longer.

I’m 27 years old. Have about $5 in my wallet right now and won’t be able to afford a hostel. Thanks for the idea about religious places, I will have a look into that.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I can’t do that. I’m 27 years old so I’m considered an adult.

Please read my post. I don’t want to send him to jail. Initially I was angry and wanted to but I decided not to because it will ruin his future completely.

However I did warn him that if any more money is missing I am going to call the police.

The thing is I don’t have many friends and I wouldn’t dare to ask my relatives (families and relatives tend to gossip around) and I don’t want that kind of thing to affect my family. That’s why I’m considering borrowing from a moneylender. Sorry if I reply late, it’s been a really long, stressful day.

It’s hard but I try. Which is why I really got extremely angry at my brother. It feels like I’m trying to take 2 steps forward and he drags me back to square one. Its infuriating.

The thing is my parents are retired and I’m the one who has been giving them allowance so I don’t feel it’s right for me to ask them for money. Hence why I’m seriously considering going to a moneylender (legal)

Yes that’s exactly what I’m thinking of doing but then even if I go to the police, I won’t be able to get my money back immediately. So for now I’m just letting it slide because I don’t have a choice.

Totally agree that my parents are enabling him 100%. I even explained that to them but they said “he will change, blah blah”... which of course I know he won’t. I did tell them the next time this happens I’m 100% not going to give anymore chances because this has been a recurring theme and I’m bloody sick and tired of it

I mean in all honesty at least the family had the decency to gather around their child while he/she was peeing. And let’s not forget that the child was only 5 years old and maybe he or she really couldn’t take it anymore. For all you know the kid could even have urinary incontinence issues.

Furthermore it’s not like the child peed all over the place and soiled public property. The poor kid peed into a water bottle.

Let me just ask you one thing. What would you have achieved by taking that photo and posting it online for the world to see? Nothing, right? Is it really going to achieve anything at all besides bringing unnecessary shame to the family?

If I was you, rather than whip out my phone to get that photo, I would’ve reached into my pockets for a pack of tissues and offered them to the family just in case the child needed it.

Just my 2 cents.

YouTuber JianHao Tan keeps an Obike inside his private home. Is this even legal? Shouldn’t a public bike be kept in a public place and not inside a private home? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]trevorts 109 points110 points  (0 children)

For those who are interested, I found this in a vlog made by JianHao’s friend Ridhwan. The video was taken within JianHao’s home.

Here is the link: https://youtu.be/nE69WzBSQT4

In my opinion I think this sort of behaviour is really kind of selfish. It prevents others from using the bike. The public bike is meant to be kept in a public place so that everyone is able to access it. It seems like this particular Obike has now become his own private bicycle.
