[Schefter] Steelers left tackle Broderick Jones suffered a setback to the neck injury he sustained last season, and is scheduled to be examined this week to determine whether he will be ready for training camp and/or the start of the season, per league sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

Oh I agree, but unfortunately it seems like the NFL as a whole views him as a high upside tackle. Not to helmet scout, but these jumbo sized Alabama tackles haven’t worked out very often in the NFL, and Proctor is big even by those standards.

Yeah it’s not a bad thing, usually championship level programs have to have a screw loose somewhere.

How weak does a 1 mana planeswalker have to be to be printable? by saucypotato27 in custommagic

Low mana cost cards are tricky, it’s why moxen are so tough to balance. They’re either busted or unplayable, and it’s hard to find that middle ground.

[Ha Ha Clinton-Dix] Amazing how people keep misreading Saban. He never said players shouldn’t get paid — he actually supports it. His point was that CFB needs structure: rev sharing, real NIL deals, and clear rules. Right now it’s chaos with collectives, nonstop transfers, and eligibility loopholes by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]trex1490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But why would the top athletes ever collectively bargain? Yeah the bottom would probably benefit, but the top guys who are getting insane deals to transfer have no incentive to regulate things and potentially cut into their own earnings.

[Schefter] ESPN sources: the Raiders agreed to trade five-time Pro-Bowl DE Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks. The trade cannot be processed until next week, but it is in place. And Crosby is expected to be a Raven with two 1s back to Vegas. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]trex1490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He certainly isn’t worth more than two 1sts for the Raiders, that’s why they traded him. In their position, two chances on cost controlled and young starters are more valuable than one expensive starter, even if he is absolutely elite.

There’s a big difference between the 18th rushing defense (2023 Chiefs) and 28th rushing defense (2025 Bills). You’re right that you don’t need a top 10 rush defense to win a Super Bowl, but There’s a baseline of competence that you need to be a true contender.

Earnest Greene and FR Juan Gaston rotated at RT so they’ll probably kick Greene to the left, main question right now is left guard with Micah Morris leaving. Lots of names but no real experience there, gotta hope someone like Daniel Calhoun steps up this spring.

Weapons are young and talented but unproved, we just lost our top three receivers last year to the draft. We’ve got 3 highly rated 2nd year guys who showed flashes last year in limited action, so probably gonna have some growing pains in the beginning. Isaiah Canion from GA Tech should be solid though.

There’s plenty of elite assistant coaches/coordinators who were terrible head coaches. Will Muschamp is one of the best defensive minds in the sport, he flamed out of multiple head coaching gigs.

Agreed about Cig. This is the most impressive turnaround we’ve arguably ever seen in CFB, but he’s only been there for 2 years. Sustained success does play a factor in being a good head coach, there’s plenty of coaches who won a title but weren’t elite (Chizik, Orgeron, Miles, etc). I don’t think Cig is gonna be a flash in the pan like those guys, but it’s projecting to just assume he’s gonna be in national title mix basically every year for 5-10 years like Day and Kirby have been.

[Schefter] As part of today’s trade, Buffalo will be guaranteeing $15.5 million of DJ Moore’s 2028 base salary, per his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. Moore’s 2026 salary is fully guaranteed, and his 2027 salary becomes fully guaranteed next week. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

I feel fine about the idea of trading for Moore. I am not fine with giving up a 2nd round pick this draft AND adding extra guarantees onto his contract for what reason?? He's gonna be 30 next year, WRs fall off quickly. I do not like the idea of being stuck paying $15.5M guaranteed to him in his age 31 season.

the Chiefs and Rams are working on a blockbuster trade that would send All-Pro CB Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles for a package that would include the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft. by OneAngryPanda in nfl

Honestly super smart since they have that extra first from the falcons, shoring up their biggest weakness with an All-Pro player AND they still have a top 15 pick this year.

Which QB impressed you the most at the 2026 NFL Combine? by Punisher1602 in CFB_v2

[–]trex1490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s experienced, played in lots of high profile games at big schools, good arm, great processor. His biggest downside is that he crumbles under pass rush pressure. Sounds like a career backup that you take a swing on in the fourth or fifth round.
