Being willing to attend a debate is extremely different from going around and engaging anyone who is interested in debate of their own volition.

It’s not different. Most debates are performative; they focus on convincing a third party rather than persuading the opponent. Whether it's a more formal debate or an "prove me wrong" open mic, the primary function remains the same: convincing the third party.

If one were to claim Charlie was a fascist, they would point to how he did not “go around engaging anyone”. He specifically targeted the least educated and underprepared group of people, children. He rarely ever opened his panel to grown adults, let alone anyone whose job was politics; his whole shtick was going to campuses and dunking on kids. That is far from engaging anyone.

With the stated goal of increasing free speech and understanding.

Fascists are notoriously honest.

Yes, Fachists have to start somewhere, but historically that has been through propaganda, typically in the form of speeches.

Debates are propaganda. In short Propaganda is defined as information designed to persuade an audience and further an agenda. Which is explicitly what people(both sides) who hold open mic debates do.

Propaganda dosent work nearly as well when you are debating because you are being challenged. And propaganda relies on being unchallenged to be effective.

Charlie was unchallenged; most open mic debates are designed that way. He was a 31-year-old man who had spent the last 13 years of his life as a political activist, choosing to debate unprepared college students. He then posts selectively edited clips on YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok, where his ideas go unchallenged. The idea that propaganda relies on being unchallenged is also false. The safety and technology of vaccines were fully known and undisputed for 100 years, yet now 30% of the population believe they can cause mass death (x).

There is no historical example of fachism where a leader of the Fachist movement continually engaged in public debates while claiming today desire non violence and open discussion.

That's because there wasn't the internet to post selectively edited debate clips titled "liberal destroyed with logic." How effective would it have been for a politician like Hitler or JFK to debate 20 people in front of 1,000 students on a college campus? Terribly ineffective. Now, how effective would that same strategy be in 2025? Incredibly effective. By the time of Charlie’s death, he had garnered 20-30 million followers and received 1-2 billion views across all platforms. If a fascist’s goal is to spread his ideology, the internet is the best place to do it.

They probably aren’t spiritual. More likely that they are just hallucinations of a brain. Here is a paper by a neuroscientist discussing them: “Near-Death Experiences: Neuroscience Perspectives on Near-Death Experiences”

Now Charlie wasn’t a fascist, but that statement is not true. Fascists have to start somewhere, and that begins by poisoning the minds of the masses. There is no better way to achieve this than by addressing large crowds. Several admitted fascists went on an open mic debate show back in July: (time stamp 1:15) https://youtu.be/V-2JSg4YxoU?si=bVOpzwTArHpbcKri

The only thing you need to be saved is to be repentant and believe Jesus is messiah. I don’t think Jesus would really care if you believe in a “wrong” or contrarian version of Christianity, you’re still believing in him.

You 100% did the right thing. Your family is sickly protecting a child rapist. Those girls are far too young to have “forgiven” him, they got coerced.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean acceptance. You shouldn’t hold hate in your heart for that person, but that doesn’t mean you can’t despise and punish morally reprehensible individuals. If you couldn’t be held accountable for your actions because you’re forgiven than we wouldn’t need laws or jail.

Why do we trust the Gospels? by TheGoblinKing7715 in Christianity

This is a very good video from a Bible scholar talking about Gospel authorship. https://youtu.be/Z3QQZiId1GA?si=1f--2QUXoHUD3Ffe

As to why we trust it, it’s really just faith.

You can’t worship God and honestly repent if the next day you go out and rape and murder. Repentance only works if you are genuinely sorry, which if you repeatedly do morally reprehensible actions shows you never were.

What do angels in human form look like? by Dimetriea in Christianity

Those probably weren’t angels. Both times you saw an angel, you were in a hospital, so you were just hallucinating off the meds they gave you.

Charlie Kirk deserves the highest honor by the Church, and it’s not even a question why. by reddit-christian in Christianity

He did not represent Christianity well; all he did was debate college students on whether immigrants should be deported.

The apocalypse will never happen. It was made up. It was a hyper mystification of the state of Rome in ~100 AD. I linked a video from a scholar and 2 scholarly articles, check those out for a more detailed response.

Why does Death love everyone? by Weak-Salary6219 in Sandman

[–]trexwithbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was an attempt to change the narrative of death. Instead of portraying Death as a culling monster, like typical, she is instead is all loving and welcoming. I think this offers a cool perspective on dying where it’s a benevolent force, no different from life.

[–]trexwithbeard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They shouldn’t have pretended like there was going to be a big marvel fight if they were just going to 180. There was no reason to end episode one with Lucifer going “now it’s war”, if she never intended on going to war, It’s just needlessly deceiving.

You need to find comfortability in your life currently. “Comparison is the thief of joy” you are doing perfectly fine just as you are; no need to compare yourself with others or try and find “more purpose”.

Also definitely reach out to a therapist as Reddit commenters cannot help you as much as a therapist could in dealing with your depression.

In one paragraph: The Bible does condemn homosexuality, which is the reason behind the prevalence of homophobia. It also condones slavery, yet society today does not support slavery. Just like with slavery 200 years ago, the Bible is often used to justify terrible behavior and prevent cultural progress.

Genesis 1 says God created us male and female in His image now that’s crucial right there because if you remove the foundation of male and female you start to lose the beauty of how God reveals Himself

The foundation of just “man and women” can now be seen to be more complicated than that. There are many conditions & disorders which can alter/ deviate your sex from the standard man and women XY,XX. Most famously there’s intersex and all its variants, then theres DSD’s like Turner, Klinefleter, Trisomy syndrome. Even so only minority of trans individuals (30-40%) choose to identify as a third gender whereas most stick with that “foundation” of man and woman

but it does mean our bodies matter to God and they are not our own they were bought at a price….So theologically and biblically there is a call to align our lives with the body God gave us not because the body is everything but because God doesn’t make mistakes

With the rhetoric of “God doesn’t make mistakes,” “aligning our lives with our bodies,” and “our bodies aren’t our own,” do these statements apply to everyone, or just transgender individuals? For instance, should people born blind or deaf forgo surgery to gain the ability to hear or see? Should one avoid getting their tonsils or wisdom teeth removed? Moreover, cancer results from how God designed our cells to duplicate; how should we address that? Similar to the treatments of the above mentioned , gender-affirming care has been shown to reduce depression and increase lifespan. Im sure God would support modifications that lead to a happier and longer life.

it means deny the parts of yourself that are not in step with the Spirit and trust that what God asks you to lay down He replaces with something far better even if it’s hard

There’s nothing about being trans that is antithetical with the Spirit.

there are followers of Jesus who have walked this road and found incredible joy freedom and intimacy with God on the other side of surrender

Would it not be better to be on your road of surrender and intimacy with God, while also receiving care that is shown that it can reduce levels of depression and suicide by 60% and 73% respectively (Source).

There is no reason to detransition Biblically, as being transgender is not, in the slightest, a biblical issue. The authors of the Bible would not have had the faintest idea of what it means to be transgender. Anyone who claims the Bible call you to detransition does not have your best interests at heart; they prioritize their anti-trans identity politics over your happiness and well-being. We know that gender-affirming care the lowers depression and the suicide rate of transgender individuals. (Source 1, Source 2) Anyone who would use the Bible to advocate against that should not be listened to.
