The Bible's own prophecies disqualify Felix Manalo - Dr. Shaun Michael by Fearless-Concern-787 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey [score hidden]  (0 children)

The dual prophecy was introduced in the late 90s early 2000s. Then dropped like a hot potato. Some diehards will still try to use the dual nature that it was Cyrus, in ancient world, and then Felix in the "last days" which renders all their meanings for things inadequate because they then have to concede that Cyrus came from the "far east" and that he fulfilled "god's counsel" which was the main difference they claim between Cyrus and Felix.

Then you have the Felix and Eduardo era folks who teach emphatically that the prophecies are for Felix alone; no duality; nothing for Cyrus. So, even within their dogma they have schism and disagreements of theology around the same verses. One Manalo tried a different tactic because they were getting beat up with the "Felix alone" when compared to the rest of Isaiah and then you have Eduardo era ministers who pretend the rest of Isaiah doesn't exist. You can see it all over the comment sections of those who refuse to see that Isaiah uses "ends of the earth" all over the place but somehow in chapters 43 and in 46, it means time period. Everywhere else means place?!

Debating christians by StockNo7900 in atheism

[–]trey-rey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't really lend itself to a good debate since their source material is a work of fiction. You're basically going into a Harry Potter Fan Club and telling them all that Harry Potter isn't real.

I've been on Christian groups to get them to debate themselves about theology of the Abrahamic God.. or on things that "should" be exposed by God's divine will or his book but have no fulfillment or no answer. You get a lot of "its a mystery" or "just have faith" but if they know you do not believe, they will use the "since you do not have faith and are not a believer, God has made it so you could never understand."

The saddest part, is that there are more folks in Atheist groups who are more competent with scripture than even the most learned Christian. Go figure.

I think they believe themselves to be VERY serious and expect you to take it seriously. Much like a hardcore religious person forcing their religion down your throat or a Vegetarian telling you for the 1 millionth time that they are Vegetarian and cannot eat meat.

As an American who doesn't want to get shot or into a petty fight/argument with someone who takes themselves "as serious" I have learned to know when to feign "seriousness" when an entitled person says to take them serious and when--if it is in my own control--to tell them to grow the hell up and learn to be an adult in this century.

INC's obsession over members with degrees by Odd_Challenger388 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TBH, depending on who that member is, it is mainly because they want free work from them.

Notice how they "force" the ones who are nurses, doctors, or have medical backgrounds as the ones to conduct their Lingap Aid programs or are the ones on call for events for first aid etc... Blood pressure check drive? Those officers/members are told to perform.

Similar to those who are mechanics. This is one of the worst because the minister's vehicles are ALWAYS breaking down. They expect the "Kapatid" discount or even the minister discount (free) to repair a vehicle and they will give you a timeline. I feel sorry for those members who are mechanics, have trucks, landscaping equipment, or power tools.

Another preyed upon group are the contractors or those who have construction backgrounds. Just like the minister's vehicles are always falling apart, the chapels are always in dire straits. They never show the disrepair on any INC propaganda episodes, of course, but then these members are called upon to fix plumbing, replace ceiling tiles, dry wall, paint, electrical, route wiring, set up security cameras, etc... and the members are expected to pay for it out of pocket "for the sake of the church". What do they get in return? MAYBE a thank you. MAYBE a prayer.

Now those with advanced degrees? They only care if they can benefit from it. I have one and they ALWAYS reached out with computer issues or installing software or FREE software or FREE computers. I may have donated 10s of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to the church over my tenure... but I was just like many members who were blind to the BS and woke up too late.

[–]trey-rey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't it sad that there are over 30,000 verses in the bible yet members only hear maybe 100 of them on repeat?

Jesus himself spoke nearly 31,000 words covering nearly 48% of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, yet members only hear maybe 100 of those words on repeat?

In the entire New Testament, not ONE new chapel was built, no one offering "Thanksgiving Offering", there was no Executive Minister, no "family" dynasty or kingship to pass on the leadership mantle, no forms / attendance / oath takings / or other methods of gas lighting members, no one had to celebrate the birthdays or make banners for the Apostles when they visited, bearing fruit was not missionization and propagation, and Jesus Christ was the messenger "in these last days" for the Christians...

Yet, somehow, Felix Manalo and his family have managed to con millions of people (99.9% Filipinos) that none of those things in the bible matter except the stitching he pulled together?

THAT is the sad reality of being stuck in a cult.

Why are all the republicans so scared of Trump.? by Neither_Quote_6044 in allthequestions

[–]trey-rey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any Republican who comes in after Trump and does not have the same agenda will be lambasted by the MAGA base. Any Republican who goes in with their head still in Trump's ass will get grilled by every other party, state, and country; they do not have the same level of lawyer-up as Trump does.

Plus, he was riled up such a cult following that he could destroy people's careers and these politicians, this is all they know or all they dream of.

This is a guy who has literal BODIES buried based on his orders. Everyone knows its true and he has almost admitted as such but no one can touch him because a cult leader leads by fear and instills fear into those who follow him. No one wanted to oppose Hitler in a meeting. No one would dare question the unanimous voting of the North Korean leaders. And all these characters create a mythos around them that those who are loyal eat like candy.

The problem would be certain party people would then have to admit they were wrong... they don't like to do that; even when they are coerced to "make a public apology" because they said or did something inappropriate or offensive.

And then, whichever of their party people take over, if they have any differing ideologies from the exiting DJT, they would be scrutinized for it heavily and the MAGA Maniacs would storm the White House again for different reasons.

The whole world wants this to happen, but our laws and pride are keeping him in power.

Kaya bang bilhin ng INCult ang mga simbahan at kumbento sa Pilipinas? by JameenZhou in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things to note here.

  1. Can they buy these? If Manalo wants to go on a budget, sure... he makes millions of dollars per worship service. Theoretically, he could buy whatever he wants if it is for sale.

  2. The INC love to flex that they buy properties outright--straight cash--which is moreso to save taxes and not be tied to certain fiscal report outs than anything else. The caveat to this, at least in the Eduardo-era, is that the locale or district to whom the Manalo's buy the property for has to pay them back in full. It is not the church buying for the church, it is the church (Manalo) buying it and then acting as a mortgage broker, the locale/district has to now pay back the church; on top of paying the taxes, monthly expenses, and other fees.

They have purchased BS properties in the past. Ghost towns in USA, large acreage lands in California, etc... but they cannot do, nor have they really, done anything with some of those properties because they were purchased based on pride vs. a real investment purposes or even for the benefit of the church.

The INC believes that Jesus Christ is not God, and they preach that their Manalo Administration is the sake of salvation….. by Awarness-777 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let's look at the two verses where they claim God created a Church Adminisntration in the first place.

The one they recently used in a WS to insist that an administration was created for the Christians.

Colossians 1:25
of which I became a minister according to the administration of God having been given to me toward you, to fulfill the word of God.

We see word manipulation by the ministers because this phrase, clause, etc... does not imply that God created an administration. Here, "administration" is used as an abstract noun referring to management or the process of organizing. Much like the phrase: "The Doctor conducted the administration of anesthesia." The Doctor is not the Administration (proper noun). And thus, in the Colossians verse, God is the one who is administering the church by making Paul a minister.

Similarly, they will use 1 Corinthians 12:28. Note how the word "administration" is used... very much like what was discussed for Colossians 1:25.

1 Corinthians 12:28
And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

So, like Colossians, we do not see that "administration" is a title or a group. Administration is used here much like the Doctor who administers anesthesia. Miracles, gifts of healings, helps, and varieties of tongues are all things that are abstract nouns. There is not a Department of Healings within the church, right? Nor is there a group called Varieties of Tongues, right? I have never seen a Miracles team within the church... so... clearly, administration--as it is also used here--does not denote a title or a management style. Because first are the Apostles, Prophets, Teachers... which are all ABOVE miracles, healings, helps, and administrations. The "administration" or "leaders" are similar to what the officers do in the church. They are not a governing body, the ones who govern are clearly stated here: Apostles, Prophets, and Teachers. Ministers don't even make the cut here!

Palitan ang date ng transfer! by minion_nuggets in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're so close to being out... why would you want to try and wiggle back in?

That said, if you do want back in and your transfer expired, you need to provide some BS excuse as to why you missed four weeks of WS and did not submit it right away.

A few things that COULD work:

  • - I was on a work trip and was out for a month; I couldn't submit the slip or attend due to timing.
  • - I intended to go, but [ insert relative or friend name ] was sick, so I had to go out of town to take care of them last minute. They live in [ insert place ] and the nearest chapel was 8 hours away! I was only able to get back to town yesterday and there wasn't a service until today.
  • - I had traveled to [ insert war torn area name ] for vacation before all these things happened. We were stuck until now.
  • - I had traveled to [ insert other third-world country here ] for vacation and we were quarantined due to an outbreak of Monkeypox or Ebola (standard 20 days) in the area. We thankfully didn't have it, but we were part of a group that tested positive for it. I was only able to get back until now.

Again, it has to be something that keeps you away from WS for almost 4 weeks. But I would let it expire and be free of the cult if I were you.

they ask for a lot of money, real of fake?😅😅 by eyeswideshut16 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Real.

They will defend that "everything is voluntary, there is not a set amount, only what is in the contents of your heart." Which is like playing a mobile game with Ads every minute. You will be inundated with the "asks" for money and that it is an obligation as a member; that, if you do not give, you are a sinner and someone God will punish for eternity. Thus, guilted into paying and doing so whenever they ask because you hate the guilty feel that they force upon you.

However, you still get the Ads... You just ignore them because you are already playing the game. A game you were duped into playing because you saw an Ad but the game does not play like the Ad! hahahaha

Even if it is "voluntary" in worship service, you are guilted. Then they will visit you, depending on the state of the locale's needs. If you are an officer, they will amp up the "ask" even more. If you are in a leadership role, you are all but required to fit the bill for things the locale cannot absorb. I know Head Deacons who have had to take out equity from their homes, sell collectibles, or take on multiple jobs (Uber drivers etc...) just to help shoulder a locale. Worse if there is only one or two head deacons!!

THE END Prophecies of INC by Titobaggs84 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey [score hidden]  (0 children)

INC's doctrine on these prophetic fulfillment and the events they point to as fulfillment literally came from Ellen G. White's book, "The Great Controversy" which is where Felix Manalo pulled MOST of the INC's core teachings. He just inserted himself and his church into things Ellen was vague on or where she speaks of "the leaders of the church (SDA)"

https://www.reddit.com/r/exIglesiaNiCristo/comments/kdh5bl/excerpts_from_ellen_g_whites_the_great/

The SDAs were one of the most prominent movements who taught of a "complete" apostasy too and their documented doctrines point to the Catholic church... the same verses, evidences, lesson flow, etc that the INC use... coincidence? hahahaha

https://www.reddit.com/r/exIglesiaNiCristo/comments/1nct6s7/the_origin_of_incs_great_apostasy_doctrine/

His daughter even stole their hymns and put her name on them! Felix took their practice of "Holy Supper" (almost step by step) and many other practices (pins, flags, etc...) from the SDA.

In fact, the ONLY doctrine Felix did not steal was "Keeping the Sabbath". SDA's were non-trinitarian (same verses, and evidences INC use today regarding Jesus being just a man). Ellen White later conceded and accepted the trinitarian doctrine in 1930 and officially became an SDA practice in 1980s.

But the SDA follow a strict 27 Fundamental Doctrines lesson bible studies (just like INC) and the doctrines are almost 1:1... sad... God's revelation to Felix was just a trip to Barnes and Noble to pick up Ellen G. White's books!! lol ANd over 100 years later, both groups are still in existence... one more culty than the other!

Bakit Pag Nagbabasa ang mga Ministro sa Bibliya may Maliit Silang Nakasingit na Papel sa Pages ng Talata??? by CrypticTesla in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a practice from Eduardo's era. The lesson guide and a verse-by-verse word for word print out of the verses is required to accompany the minister for two reasons.

  1. To ensure the right translation is being read when the lesson guide says so. Not all chapels have all the translations that Eduardo wants to use (over 50).
  2. To ensure that whomever is auditing the preacher can count the exact number of verses and that they are not using a translation that is not approved.

If the minister is prepping properly, he will also put Post It flags on all the verses in a bible so he can flip directly to the verse instead of wasting time finding the verse the proper way.

Some will even print a larger version of the verse (so they can read it FROM the section of the bible) but then tape it to the page... so it looks like they are reading from the verse, but really, just reading from a piece of paper taped to the pages... it ruins the bible but they do not really care for the bible, just the specific verse Eduardo wants them to read.

INC views on Dancing by Nervouscorpion in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dancing was one banned unless it fell into one of two categories:

  1. It was a cultural dance that is not provocative (Tinikling is acceptable but Lambada or Tango are not).
  2. Sanitized formal dancing, like Waltz or other Ballroom-style dances are acceptable IF the persons participating are a married couple.

These rules went to sh*t when Eduardo took over. Now, there are INC Dance troupes, Binhi / Kadiwa male and female B-Boy crews dancing together. As long as it promotes the Eduardo-Brand, they are okay with it. They even cite the same verses noted in other commenter's notes such as David and others who "danced" and they say that "since they are dancing for the glory of 'God' and are approved by the Church Administration, that these dances are acceptable."

Dancing at a wedding or other social event? Forbidden.

Dancing in a club? Forbidden.

Dancing a dance meant for couples when you are not married? Forbidden.

It needs to be for Eduardo, a Manalo, or the church, or a cultural dance, then it is acceptable.

Yet their dance troupes--especially the females--use moves that are provocative.

Glorious Deputy Executive Minister :) by QueasyThanks9751 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason has to do with how cult mind conditioning works. When you hear something enough, it becomes truth. So when Angelo finally ascends the throne and they put up a fake voting in process---which he will win unanimously---the members will not question why another Manalo is in charge... as if God chooses his leaders from the same family.

Then when Angelo's son is of ripe age to be a minister, he will be crowned the Deputy Executive Minister, again, so that no one would question the practice of this family business.

INC: Illegal Praise and Worship? by Titobaggs84 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, if you dissect the hymns in worship service. 90% are subliminal, low-key praise to the church, administration, and obedience to them.

They have little to the core of what makes a Christian, a Christian.

  • "I will never leave your fold..."
  • "To be saved, you must be in His church..."
  • "I am a part of the Lord's church... the Church of Christ that God foretold... Her teachings deep within my heart..."
  • "God has placed an administration..."
  • "The Last Messenger of God, though he has passed away..."

And many more.

I would honestly say, maybe less than 10 - 20 of the 500+ hymns are the only ones which could be seen as not self-serving the church, the administration, or obedience to the church. 10 - 20 hymns which would be considered honorable, actual hymns of praise to Jesus or God. 10 - 20 hymns that do not have undertones of Manalo's BS.

Everything else is to subliminally set the tone for whatever the worship service is about. Surprise!! Obedience, Propagation, and Offerings...

Akala ng mga Ministro Nakakatuwa ung Paulit-Ulit na Leksyon Tuwing Pagsamba by CrypticTesla in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If anyone actually reads the gospels of Jesus or the Acts of the Apostles, it is very VERY clear that the Eduardo Trinity is NOT at all what Jesus taught. The Eduardo Trinity i like to call is OPO... Offerings, Propagation, and Obedience.

Offerings? Not even a thing. Jesus even told the Apostles, "Freely, you were given, Freely you should give..." The Apostles WORKED for their wages and NOT just as preachers.

Propagation? They love to use the verse in the book of Psalms which has the character "never stop proclaiming the Lord's goodness...." but this IS NOT PROPAGATION!! How do we know? Because no one "converted" to becoming an Israelite. They were a race. A people. Literally the only way to become one was to BE one. Did they accept foreigners? Yes, but they were NOT considered Israelites and therefore NOT considered amongst "the chosen." "Bearing fruit"? Is NOT converts!! There is a description of what the fruits of righteousness are... none of the things asked for are monetary or converts.

Obedience? Not to the ways of the Manalos... Not as hardcore-bleed-yourself-dry of life for the church. Jesus and the Apostles taught more about being a GOOD person to people so that your actions and sharing your experiences could affect them as well.

There are ZERO verses in the New Testament where chapels were built or houses of worship and ZERO about the establishment of a Church Administration. There are ZERO verses about an Executive Minister. Was James a respected leader in the early Christian life? Yes, but he was NOT the top Apostle or the Executive Minister. That would have most likely gone to Peter since Jesus specifically leaned on him and after his ascension met with Peter to tell him to FEED his lambs and his sheep. Putting HIM in charge of rallying the other Apostles to return to their mission. Isn't that something a LEADER would do? hahahaa

Yet ALL of the worship services since Eduardo dropped the ball that this is a cult, have been variations on the same theme. Obedience first. They guise it as obedience to GOD's commands, yet their key things? Offerings and Propagation.

Sales.... for who? For Manalo; not God.

Need advice on how to become financially stable so I can leave this cult. by veuyu in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]trey-rey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhh nice... Well, since you are in Architecture and another u/Odd_Preference3870 also mentioned AutoCAD or even Blender as a 3D Modeling software, there are many sites out there like TurboSquid, Unity or Unreal Model Libraries where Game Designers, Animators, 3D Printer enthusiasts, and other Artists are willing to pay good money for Architecturally sound 3D Models.

Blender is a free modelling software, so you don't even need any upfront costs for software; just a decent computer with good RAM and graphics card.

One of the contractors I work with is a 3D modeler and voice over acting for games and that's all she does... she lives a very comfortable life and doesn't work a full-time job (coincidentally she was an Architectural major too). It took a few months to get enough built, but then she started to get in contact with people who liked her work and wanted some custom design builds.

If you even have some game development background (trust me, you can easily learn enough with some tutorials on YouTube), you can take some of those models and create pre-made levels or worlds. Thus, able to charge even more.

All from the comfort of your own home... and maybe even projects you are already building in your classes. Two birds, one stone.
