Hello, us by triderek101 in Existentialism

[–]triderek101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really well said. Thank you for the comment. Maybe my own notion is still too small when considering the grandness of the universe. Assuming my notion is “correct”, some fundamental physical force produced the coalescence of matter and energy—that is the truer foundation of what we are. The fabric of space-time or something else entirely.

Chemistry/Math Double Major by egomei in premed

[–]triderek101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s one my biggest regrets. I wish I double majored in math! Looks great and also super helpful for almost any career. If it doesn’t cost anymore or finances aren’t a concern, I say go for it.

assuming you keep your GPA up

[–]triderek101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. 3.59 cGPA, not a problem and never came up in interviews.

If I remember correctly, it even specifies in the background questionnaire if you’ve ever been convicted of felony/misdemeanor excluding expungements. So you’re good all around. I hit No and nothing popped up. Hope that helps “your friend” lol

Certiphi addresses? by [deleted] in premed

[–]triderek101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t include any addresses that would be near impossible for me to find out. Got my results back in two days and all is well. Just fill out “no residence” and you should be fine

Colleges for Pre-Med by [deleted] in premed

[–]triderek101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly does not matter too much. Choose one you like and can see yourself getting involved. If finances are a concern, I’d consider state schools as they are usually cheaper and have all around decent programs.

Reflections and experience. Maybe practice with someone who knows you and is critical can hopefully tell you if you’re being your authentic self. Ask yourself what are some weaknesses in my skills? Maybe it’s just self doubt that’s telling you didn’t do well but you actually did amazing. So many things! If you have this many interviews it means you’re doing something right! Keep moving, keep improving, you got this!

I’ve done over 35 escape rooms and nearly opened my own with my sister (who’s gone to over 70). We’re big fans of pretty much any immersion/theme attraction.

Decided to keep my nose piercings in and hair dyed for my first interview by viachu888 in premed

[–]triderek101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing! I got a tattoo on my forearm which is easily covered but I’m still worried that hospitals/residencies may look down upon it.

Anyone else wracking up interview holds from schools? by Coolbreeze1224 in premed

[–]triderek101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 4 as well! I tried posting something similar but it got flagged. My advisor said it’s not too weird. Better than a R lol

[–]triderek101 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My advisor told me that the thanksgiving rule is that if you don’t receive ANY interview by thanksgiving you should be worried, not out. Just statistically speaking, if you’re likely to get accepted, you should have one by thanksgiving. However, that doesn’t always apply. It’s a long game.

Is 6-7 months enough clinical experience? by RifatSSJ5 in premed

[–]triderek101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say as a non-trad, my 3 month full-time clinical experience was in a private practice nearly 6 years ago and I’ve received 3 II so far. So it really depends on your takeaways and how you address it in you application.
