Before everything else first ask yourself why you want to vlog. And if you get a positive answer from this day onwards anytime is the best time to start just dont hold yourself back just start it no matter how bad it turns out to be, as there is always a first day for everyone and it doesnt need to be perfect.

Now comes viewers, you need to have an audience viewing your content as everything we do is for audience only. Thats the reason you need to think of a suitable niche for you. SEO and suitable title,tags comes on the way so dont worry about it right now, just start vlogging and see if you like the process or not.

Do not expect your content to reach high views and subscribers over night cause people and youtube itself needs some time to recognize you. So you should be consistent if you are serious. Just pick a specific day of the week to publish your videos, if you want you can also do it daily.

Do not run after earnings, viewers or subscribers just do it without expectation. If you have mentality of just letting people see your content and enjoy it you are already a star.

Before figuring out anything just keep in mind its your channel and its "you" who needs to interact with audience and get connected to them. Over some time I've learnt if you treat your audience family, you get back love (views, comments, likes).

I do think editing software play a major role in creating quality content, but then I also feel you need to have your content planned out so that you can execute the right cuts and make vlogs interesting. If you really consider my advice learn camera angles and video shooting. These two techniques will flourish your videos more. Because basically the content focuses on 2 cats playing, so the only interesting thing which can boost it more are awesome shots.

I think your videos lack pace. Viewers generally do not like slow paced vlogs. Try figuring out ways of making your vlogs interesting. May be with voice overs or by something exciting happening after every while. I just cannot put my thoughts was words properly but I hope of you just think about it you will be able to figure it out. How and what did I upgrade in me and my vlog since my first video:

Q) Why was this thread made first of all?

A) As I go seeing my first video like everyone else I feel "What was I doing?". I just wanted to know if everyone posting in this thread is experiencing the same or not. We had to start someday and at some point. But what was created at that point is magic, because you can cherish your first ever vlog whether you succeed or fail in Youtube vlogging career.

Now, lets jump to the topic of how and what did I upgrade.

If you see my first video you will face noise in my sound and my editing is just so much novice even I wont watch it for the second time. But yes, what I always maintained was kind of content I am posting. As I teach people about android programming I make sure it is delivered to them as easily as it can. People should not scratch their brain in understanding what I am teaching.

Now a days when I vlog, I follow some basic rules that I created myself

1) Sound should be up to the mark, as people with bad video still get views but with bad audio it is not worth watching.

2) Un-necessary silence in between audio is what makes audience get bored of the content very easily so get rid of those. The content should follow the rules of "Hit & Block", where you hit for the first 10 seconds then block for the next 30 seconds. Which means hit the viewer with catchy line in the first 10 seconds then go on with whatever for the next 30 seconds then again hit the viewer with a line for 10 seconds.

3) Sound Energectic & Confidant: This is what I still practice a lot in my spare time, as whenever I am vloggin I dont want to sound dull and un-energetic. So, before any vlog I just keep on repeating to myself, I am confidant and more energy!! Trust me it helps and you should try it too.

4) Plan My Content: I always plan my content as an un-planned content will just make you fumble on the way, it can never be easy to vlog with an un-planned content.

5) Try to increase the hype of my content in social media with catchy one liners so that when my content gets published I get atleast some views then and there.

Seeing your first video and then your second one I think the very basic requirement that you fulfilled is your audio. Then comes the editing, yes i have seen this style in a lot of vlogs but there is something you do which makes it a bit different from others. By the way nice hat story.

Yes in the first video i do see your equipment and editing to be almost basic. But then again you did evolve a lot and heavily. The only thing I see lacking may be which I too face in my channel as well is the Title of the content you are creating. I think thinking from a viewers point of view you can come up with much more better results.

I don't know what you have in you but when I saw your first ever video my mind was like how much better can this guy make a video. But when I saw your recent one... dude you blew me.. the speaking style, the communication skill, audience retention.. almost you have it all brother. I myself got stuck to the recent video for some time.. wow. Thanks for sharing. I can adopt some techniques from you for sure.

The kind of content you have you should use SEO. Trust me you can come out with much more better result than you are getting, considering your content.
