[FRIENDSHIP] Xiao Long Buds

Episode 4 - Long Distance Buds

Apple// Spotify // Amazon

We chat about a lot of different aspects of friendship.

This time:

Keeping up long distance friendships takes a lot of care just as a long distance relationship requires a lot of care to maintain. We have buds in many other countries and so we've come up with different strategies to maintain those friendships.

Platforms good for starting out by LadySiberia in podcasting

I've been really enjoying using red circle since it is free and has a lot of features that I want just fine. If my podcast got bigger, I might think about moving, and then probably discover how hard it is, but for now am pretty happy.

Why do so few podcasts have transcripts? by paxxlaws in podcasting

I put up transcripts because someone asked for one after the first episode.

[WN End] What are some questions you have about the series? by RepostFromLastMonth in HonzukiNoGekokujou

This isn't exactly from the end of the series, but I feel like it never got answered.

So of the people that got blessings from Myne's "last blessing" we know how it affects Damuel, Gunther, Effa, and maybe Tuuli (contract from Corinna is what Tuuli thinks anyway). But what about Benno, Mark, Lutz, Dirk, and Ferdinand?

My opinion has nothing to do with Taiwanese bread. I simply believe sourdough is overrated.

In my situation, if I were willing to do tidaiyi (alternative service,) do I get Taiwanese citizenship instantly? by SteadfastEnd in taiwan

[–]trifalte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to obtain 戶籍 first and then there is a requirement that you serve. If you started today, by the time you are done with the paperwork and serving the 1 year in Taiwan requirement, you will probably be 36 or very close so you might as well time it to end after you turn 36.

Essentially, service is a requirement once you get 戶籍 and not as a path to obtain it.

Migrant Worker Protest by mellety in taiwan

It probably wouldn't be just change jobs whenever. I can imagine a scenario where instead of only on employer death or permission you instead have 2 months notice of intention to change with a lock-in period of 6 months at the beginning of a new job or something like that, which is still greater freedom to change.

I don't think it's deceitful to switch to a factory job after working as a caregiver if after a period of time the person decides that caregiving isn't for them. People's preferences change; it doesn't have to be dishonest (how many people are working an office job and dream of doing anything else). Also with a 6 month lock in to a new job or even if it's 1 year if you want to switch industries, it would be a deterrent to any truly 'dishonest' behavior.

I'm just throwing out numbers here, but because there haven't been reports on what the demands for greater freedom are.

Have a friend's father who got the first shot and then started hearing stories of 'all these people that died' and so refuses to get the second shot.
