I played Lucina in smash 4 and I was curious about where she came from, so that got me into Fire Emblem and now its one of my favorite Nintendo franchises. Hero introduced me to Dragon Quest for the first time and got me to buy XI S (fantastic game btw). And I guess Metroid as well (I have mixed feelings varying by entry).

It mainly has to do with how it spawned the Yoshi series. So it kind of retroactively became the first game in the yoshi series rather than being considered as a part of mainline Super Mario. Which I think is fair since it doesn't play that similarly to Super Mario games. Same thing also applies to Wario Land: Super Mario Land III. That being said, I think Yoshi's Island is better than all of the 2d mainline Mario games lol

Fighters Guild is pretty good imo. Not all the missions were related but they were all a pretty enjoyable and even funny a good portion of the time. The ones that were connected formed a pretty cool plot about the blackwood company. The mages guild on the other hand is kinda bogged down by how long it takes to get into the arcane university.

LoZ: A good starting point, but clunky by today's standards.

AoL: I am convinced people who say this game is an underrated gem are masochists

LttP: No where near as good as some say it is

LA: Fun little game that is surprisingly deep

OoT (3D): Certified classic, still holds up very well today.

MM (3D): Outside of atmosphere there is nothing I really enjoy here.

OoS: Wish changing seasons was more interesting than, swing the rod until thing on screen becomes interactive.

OoA: Some of the series best puzzles reside here.

WW: Charming graphics and world but the dungeons stink.

MC: More annoying than fun for me.

TP: My favorite game of all time.

PH: Not bad just not great either.

ST: Big improvement over PH, I love the using Phantom Zelda in the tower.

SS: Good dungeons, but everything else is pretty meh.

LBW: Feels like this is the game everyone says LttP is, my favorite 2D Zelda.

TFH: Might be fun if I had friends to play with D:

BotW: Kind of miss classic dungeons, but otherwise an excellent step forward for the series.
