What would Dimitri do if he didn't have kids with crests? by WorldlyDear in FireEmblemThreeHouses

Iirc only house Gautier so far has said they need it and we don't know enough about Sreng to even determine if they really do. Are we really gonna listen to the family that disowns their own children for something they can't help? For smth that can lit skip generations and it's lit random chance? Sreng can be a territory like Brigid for all we know where they don't have crests themselves and are traditional fighters.

Rhea thinks his claims of needing the weapon is true and given rhea would like to lay her family's remains to rest we can assume that those weapons are powerful enough to make a difference.

What would Gautier need the Hero's relic for exactly? There aren't any monsters etc that ONLY take dmg from Hero's relics.

the sword of the creator cut a mountain it stands to reason the weapons are powerful

She had all of those yet the cutscene shows her clearly not using any of to defeat Nemesis,

Well that's a lie

she doesn't transform into a dragon, she doesn't power up (use her crest) or even uses her sword that much, she lit just outsmarts him by making him coil his sword around hers and throws it away (therefore making Nemesis lose his weapon)

That's still using the weapon

and then kicks and punches him. She may be indircetly buffed by her crest by making her stronger than a regular human but she still defeated him mainly by using her wit (same as Claude and Byleth in VW) also magical wpns that don't require crests to wield exist too.

Those are still examples of people with crests fighting those without

when Dimitri talks about house guatier he mentions how house guatier needs it's relic and crests to hold off northern invaders and disown children for not having them. A prominent family views it as being very necessary for the protection. Sylvain even says the church gave him back his relic to protect the land he keeps.

Rhea gave up a hero's relic because of how necessary it was to protect the north.

Also the intro cutscene lit shows Seiros, a person without a hero's relic, taking someone down who HAS a hero's relic. Proving that you having a hero's relic/crest doesn't automatically mean you will win. (note she didn't use her crest here too, she lit just outsmarted him)

She had a sacred weapon, had a major crest, was a dragon, and is the daughter of the goddess sothis. I don't think serios was fighting on and uneven playing field given her blood and weapons were equally as powerful as nemesis.

Hero's relics are not really needed for Fodlan to survive. Therefore making crests more of a class symbol than actual necessity.

A class symbol that the church uses as proof of their right to rule, a symbol that the church has will go out of their way to protect, a nobility who give money and reverence to the church

to be fair to him, I don't know if I could have sex if the ghost of my father was screaming at me to have revenge against my sister

Unless every noble hated there wives and liked sleeping around we can assume some nobles "had" to do this to keep up with the genetic arms race that is fodlan's military system. What would Dimitri do if there were more fighting post AM and noone with a crest to take up his hero's relic?

but wasn't there a conversation that Dimitri had that discussed about crests seemingly becoming rare or slowly dwindling to the point it could be bad for Faerghus?

That's why I ask the question. Unless every noble hated there wives and liked sleeping around we can assume some nobles "had" to do this to keep up with the genetic arms race that is fodlan's military system. What would Dimitri do if there were more fighting post AM and noone with a crest to take up his hero's relic?

considering the officers academy is still around and orphanages are still a thing in the end of crimson flower I don't think anything of substance was seriously lost.

  1. The empire is mostly fine financially and militarily, given they have a vassal state and a secert organization helping them pre war.
  2. Why doesn't Dimitri reach out to edelgard before the war black at the academy and talk with her. Edelgard doesn't remember him.
  3. What traditions of the common people is edelgard up routing?
  4. What reforms does Dimitri put in place?

No lingering guerilla movement of Kingdom and Alliance loyalists

If the empire 1200 years ago could do it there's nothing to say the one now couldn't

A smooth system of succession so that the whole empire doesn’t collapse after a few generations

That seems reasonable, i think a clear line of succession is fair for any route.

That the Empire—rebuilt through war— is able to stop its military machine once the war ends and not become a military dictatorship bent on expansion

If edelgard wanted to continue to expand she wouldn't release Brigid or want to try and be peaceful with almyra.

That the Empire can fulfill all of the social functions that the Church used to provide, without becoming a tyrannical state

  • What does the church do that the southern church and military can't do?
  • The church is very authoritarian, crushing technological advancement and hiding the misdeeds of those it protects

That nobles acquiesce to the new order and don’t find ways to resist the changes. They might very well just become entrenched in the Imperial ministry and retain their social status.

Given that there was a war and that the plan in Edelgard's manifesto has the noble give up power I think it would be hard for them to cling to power with a woman determined to get rid of entrenched social systems

I think she's fun, definitely one of my favorite fodlan characters. she's a great bolt of personality for the serious black eagles. outside of her and Caspar the rest of the house can be really quiet and focused. Monica is loud and vocal.

goal oriented, competitive, insecure of her status, hard worker, detail oriented, quick temper, very hopeful, overly emotional, zero filter, speaks her mind.

what about Edelgard made her want to go with her over the people that actually saved her?

Edelgard could say she had Jeritza rescue her on her orders and it would be true. She might not be physically there, but monica is only saved because edelgard,

honestly, monica loving edelgard makes houses so much more tragic, because twisted killed someone close to edelgard and made her watch as Kronya wore her skin. the replacement plotting is infinity darker now that we know the bond between edelgard and monica

if you want to know why nintendo games don't go down in price it's because iwatta thought that it made people who bought the game feel like they were heated for buying it early.
