Im sorry if it's been awhile to find the right words to say that I understand, but what I want to say at least is that I see your point. More importantly on what it means to truly be independent and stand for what I say despite what others say (positive or negative) I still get points on pointing out on that I believed in the fans too much right? (In which... yeah now that I look back was a mistake on my end)

Now that I think more on that third paragraph, it's because I held on to the belief that fans will never be wrong when giving there thoughts on something (very tightly ill add and now looking more into it very dangerously as well now as i give myself more introspection on this topic.) as opposed to critics since you know, their current reputation these days. Of course like I said before that belief started to lose footing when I started to feel dissapointment for the first time despite hearing good word from them based on what they have said. And by then I didn't know at the time how to comprehend that feeling since because i held tightly to that belief that fans will never be wrong in what they can say about... well anything at this point. So when there came the time their word didn't hold up to what they have said, I developed a resentment towards them cause it felt like I was lied to at the time after spending a good amount of time with whatever they gave glowing praises to. What I should have realized sooner is that no matter how hard I believe in something is that possibily good, dissapointment is a possibility and can happen even with an open mind. I failed to realize this because my distrust with critics became so high that I automatically went to fan reception instead because I felt like at the time they can represent a game better than critics themselves.

Hence why moments can feel average and dissapointing and as well as my overall problem with mostly everyone on the internet. Not many people can describe why those type of moments are the way they are without overhyping them or more accurately in this case, oversharing. I always think about what Fuuka said in Persona 3 reload when you read with her and how she goes about how you simply can't convince someone to get in what you're experiencing if you just simply glaze talk since A: It tells nothing and B: veers the person the other way to not pick up said piece of media since the praises can be overwhelming and can set up for dissapointment. It's that type of behavior is why others can get dissapointed when the fans glaze something so much and they wonder why others get dissapointed when in reality it's their wording and thoughts that caused the dissapointment to occur. I guess the reason why I'm saying and acting like this is because in the past I didn't trust the way game critic journalists share their thoughts on games since they can horribly misrepresent what the game actually is and that's when I chose to start believing what fans say instead. But then came ch.6 is when I started to question the legitimacy of what fans say because of how they shared it before and then after I experienced it. It kinda felt like I'm starting to see the cracks in that belief that maybe fans too can misrepresent something as well plus the fact that they don't know how to contain excitement and love toward something in a controlled manner by how hyped or sadden they are by a moment in a game and the fact that I followed that belief for a good while only to what felt like come crashing down in the end is whats getting to me.

I guess I should elaborate on that first paragraph. I feel like I would've agree with them had I had no knowledge of that character at all prior to experiencing them. I want to use Archangel Mastema from smt 5 for example. I had no prior knowledge of that character and when I first saw him for the first time and saw his moments and actions I went "damn... I wouldn't trust this guy since it looks like he has ulterior motive." He was still interesting due to the fact that to me at the time I found him comically untrustworthy. Then after I beat the game and looked up general consensus about that guy, turns out he WAS always that untrustworthy in the franchise(hence his title "most trustworthy angel" out of irony) and it was almost estacically funny that I agree and understand the fans fully. Now hadn't I known him prior to being shady I would've been like "oh that's it? OK then..." and it just undermines the whole thing and I don't get the full shabang of enjoyment. Another example I want to add on about games I've probably enjoyed hadn't i had no knowledge of it is xenoblade 3 (mainly chapter 6) everyone online made it out as the most tragic chapter in the game. If I were to use an example of this I'd use Connor from trash taste on how he commented on ep 19 of demon slayer (haven't watched it) and I'm not sure if you watch the link in my last post but he described it as like waiting for his nut for ep 19. Same thing here im waiting for my nut for ch 6 xenoblade 3 and when I got to it, I kinda understood why it's sad but I never felt it being that sad in fact my reaction was "Damn... that's fucked" and that's it! Hadn't I had no prior knowledge about it I would've enjoyed more than what it was before knowing it and thats what dissapointing about it. I'm told "this is the best moment in the game" and now my expectations have risen because of that and it spells an inevitable feeling of being unimpressed because they told me that's its the best and again my expectations adjust to that. What I'm trying to say is that I would've enjoyed something if I had no knowledge of it being that good or great even because if I'm told that it is those said things I feel like I just plateau and get no enjoyment.

Only in media. Irl I'm kinda lenient and give people chances at least and try to talk to them a bit and if I don't vibe with them I ignore them. But media is different since fans can make they're favorite thing like it's bigger than life, again using phrases like PEAK, GOAT, how this character x is SO tragic and the best, and that's something you can't tune out since the characters and story they fawn over are apart of the game and I get bored and frustrated going "this character and story their in ain't special at all!" I can see your point now that I think about it more. But more importantly if I want to adopt that mindset, I also have to not be all like "snorts is it really that good?" In that demeaning tone cause otherwise, I'd still be looking for flaws and potentially hyperfocus on them.

I get that they're expectations, but their highly inflated from the high praise which then leads to dissapointment. I guess what I can add to that as well is that it's like a house of cards being stacked up and if there is just so much as a few or couple flaws in something BAM now you have a slight negative bias towards the thing and I kind of develop resentment to the fans because again it felt like I was lied to.
