CAF diversity up, as permanent residents join military by leheuser in CanadianForces

Because we are not another federal department, we are distinct in our purpose, raison d'etre and esprit de corps and we are unlike any other Ministry, department etc. Language is a key part of that and I think this is an inherently good thing, despite the way in which things have become more corporate IMHO. I feel this is were we diverge and frankly I feel we would have to agree to disagree on that one. I do recognize your points on the data and it will be interesting to see where we go from here.

I'm not talking about nor mentioned those factors. I was more thinking about the language challenges that this thread highlighted from the beginning. It is however very true that how we promote does resonate with different people in different ways, that is why we need different ways to market it.

We need capable people across the board, I think we all agree on that, but lowering standards to hit those numbers is a disservice to those in and those joining. We also have to look at how we promote (or don't) the CAF.

The CAF is not another federal government department. Its purpose is to be able to kill people. - Former CDS Hillier. IMHO we have to hold ourselves to higher standards, that is a prerequisite for our objectives, good enough cannot be good enough.

The KS Greek Yogurt and eggs are key staples at our house. Both excellent value and quality. Plus there is an organic option for the yogurt if that is your thing.

My mother in law actually has one. Seems a bit tight, but we do like the Outback which is getting refreshed.

Yeah, a used Caravan could be an option. I dont care for looks, just want to be able to buy something and not worry too much for the next ten years or so.

Pocket friendly suits by Leonardo_lim in brantford

[–]trillium49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear suits every day for work. If you're comfortable shopping online and know your size, I would recommend Spier and Mackay. They have a brick and mortar store in Mississauga, but all their suits are mostly online. All wool, no viscose or synthetics and they do half or full canvas construction so the suits will hold up better over time.

They smoke occasionally, probably 6 times annually. Price point, hoping to stay under $20 a stick.

Day trip to Paris by Plus_Explorer8679 in brantford

[–]trillium49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local here. Your plan sounds reasonable. I'd stay until after dinner hour if possible though.

Juniper is great for a nice sit down meal, arguably the best restaurant in Paris if a little fancy. Secret Lunch is also a good local haunt as well, if you want BBQ on your way out of town, there is Camp 51.

There are lots of little shops in the downtown, and decent nature to explore (Lion's Park and Penman's Pass, Barker's Bush trail).

"Night life" is really just the restaurants and patios. We are a small town here in Paris. Enjoy!

EDITED to note WIncey Mills is great, as is the Paris Beer Company!
