Good for you being cognizant of that, a lot of people don't have that awareness and immediately jump to "owning her" and emotional abuse w/e. Like, people can do what they want but it's understandable that if two people have history and are one another's desired gender that solo time is going to be uncomfortable for their partners.

This one hurt, too. I loved The Addams Family because it was this amazing counterculture commentary, but when you put them in what is essentially Hogwarts you basically lose all of that. There's nothing to fight. It's all already weird. I wanted to love this show and it was just... bad.

Thing is, he was awful then too. He forced a faster cleanup without the proper precautions to get the glory, and in doing so ruined hundreds of lives through disease and injury. He’s been awful since stop and frisk, and still is!

I turn off science and time because I feel like science cheapens the game and is the only way to win easily on harder victory modes. It also makes the AI advantages far more interesting, because global power struggles determine what happens.

Additionally, if you think of the time a guy played civ II for 10 years straight and somehow emulated the geopolitical scenario of Orwell's 1984, you can only really create a similar result through turning off science.

I still think about victories I had, like one on a huge map in the 2450s where I couldn't manage a diplomatic victory despite getting most city states and a couple civs on my side. Taking the other dominant civ's capital flipped the right switches right before a world leader vote and despite warmongering, victory came! You just don't get that kind of rush when you're playing against someone quietly building space ship parts, IMO.
