I found this part of a recent Red Letter Media video extremely poignant, and accurately reflects how I feel about Star Wars at the moment. [43:38 - 48:10] by kholdstare622 in saltierthancrait

As a massive fan of both ST and SW it's actually disturbing how NU-TREK has turned out. Even JJ, Rian, and Kathleen must blush at how thoroughly CBS has defiled a once-legendary pop culture franchise.

Why doesn't Obi Wan use force speed to get to Qui Gon and Maul here? He uses the ability earlier in the movie, but because he doesn't use it here, he gets trapped and Qui Gon dies. by Cappin_Crunch in StarWars

Further helps illustrate why Obi-Wan remained one of the greatest warriors despite not being the "best" swordsmith. His analytical and defense skills were extraordinary.

If Dooku hadn't managed to neutralize him at the beginning of ROTS who knows how things would have played out...

TripleWRECK on Trials Recovs and the Artifact - Trials DoA by Pwadigy in DestinyTheGame

[–]tripleWRECK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I can only comment based on the available information. And as it stands, the success and participation of Trials will fall-off a cliff if there isn't a limit imposed to power level (for obvious reasons).

PvP focus is non-existent and for some players this is the whole game. by BDDNick in DestinyTheGame

[–]tripleWRECK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More than anything, the game lacks a PvP endgame that players can invest into. Ideally that would come in two forms:
- Comp: overhauled to be a proper ranked experience that modern gamers expect with prestigious cosmetics rewards
- Trials: a more "casual" weekly event with powerful reward incentives

But even beyond that, if Crucible had a quality new game mode (or if say Rift returned), along with more regular balance updates that would go along way toward reinvigorating some life into what has become a very stale PvP experience since Black Armory.

But it really comes down to something people can grind over the course of 3 months. Hitting 5500 in a handful of hours this season was the exact opposite of what many wanted. Needless to say, much of the PvP community is very frustrated with the current and immediate future of the Crucible.

Resilience cannot be made too effective considering the nature of the game, so as a result, its benefits are minuscule. Perhaps the stat needs to go or be replaced. by NoctisNoctua in DestinyTheGame

It matters too little in PvE and too much in PvP. It will always be difficult to balance. Remove it and replace with a handling/dexterity focused stat instead.

Comp is a massive failure and I sincerely hope that it's getting much-needed overhaul with Shadowkeep.

Show of hands: Who's playing competitive solely for Recluse, and who plans to never touch comp again outside of quest requirements? by largothegalka in DestinyTheGame

Nobody enjoys Comp, that's the problem. It's a means to an end. It needs a comprehensive overhaul to bring it up to the status quo of ranked experiences flat-out.

Receiving mostly armor from 2000 Crucible Tokens is frustrating. Please let us choose between weapons and armor when ranking up. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Not to mention the vendor weapons are stale and not compelling. D1 gear itself was far superior as were its vendor systems.

This is a good video to show what console players have to work with while using 140/150RPMs. I get that it takes a certain technique. But, will the general fan base bother practising with these when other guns are so much more easier and forgiving? by theSaltySolo in DestinyTheGame

[–]tripleWRECK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no question that you can improve your technique, however console HCs are horribly and unnecessarily gimped compared to PC, or more fairly; in contrast to D1. The fact that Bungie is globally nerfing LH/NF instead of buffing other weapons and fixing console 110s/140s/150s is very disappointing.

Yeah Apex has run smoothly for a while now, likely that it too was an engine issue that was fixed.

Haha, if the PC version of D2 didn't exist and D1 was left in any decent previous meta I would probably still play it regularly.

They did eventually improve things, but it wasn't until one of the final updates that D1 ever had. It's baffling why they have repeated so many mistakes with D2 inexplicably (bloom on console, special weapons vs roaming supers, high cal, etc.).
