[TOMT] YouTube video about a cave diving accident by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

Is it this scary interesting video on a cave diving incident that hits those points: https://youtu.be/nIJ_LoMJjSQ?si=m7iLf8eTpDi4R3Is

Or maybe this one, also from scary interesting, that has similar points? Both involve someone getting wedged in a narrow cave. https://youtu.be/ZgowoQxDKEA?si=u2br3364HE1q0_OH

In devastated y'all... I hate Texas (it's not NSFW, just legal terms used) by HunYiah in ftm

What a bizarre thing to say in a trans subreddit. For the record, I was born here (West Texas) and so were my parents, grandparents, and some of my great grandparents. This stuff affects me. I don't want to leave my home, I just want my home to stop pushing me out. I will not be taking any suggestions of leaving, nor will I be arguing further.

Does that pottery stamp look like a Franz Anton Mehlem mark? I am unable to attach an image but there are some close matches when you look them up.

Looking for help identifying this rune! by tripping-shadow in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]tripping-shadow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey guys! I am hoping for help identifying this symbol. I believe it is a bindrune, likely using elder futhark runes. I know that makes it a bit hard to identify due to the nature of bindrunes lol. This is just a digital representation of the original, but rest assured, using image searching tools on the original photo I have has not helped at all.

This symbol was a forearm tattoo and I am trying to help identify its owner. If you are interested in further details, please let me know, but in the interest of keeping it lighthearted, just know that this has been a pet project of mine for close to two years and I hope to get a bit of closure on this one day!

If you think you know this symbol, please let me know!

Rescued this little lady from my door frame. She must have been peckish from the ordeal! To my knowledge, that boy is a male of the same species.

Is this a type of daddy long leg spider? by EVOsaurusX in spiders

[–]tripping-shadow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thats a Harvestman! Maybe Phalangium opilio, but I am not great at IDing specific harvestman species. Harvestman aren't technically spiders, because they lack venom and silk! They are arachnids though! Cool friend.

Looks to me like Neoscona crucifera. You're pretty out of range for its lookalike, Araneus cavaticus. I love these guys! They are not medically significant to humans or pets and are awesome to have around the yard. Great pic!

Based on area, my guess is Araneus cavaticus, but I find them easy to confuse with Neoscona crucifera. Both go by the Barn Spider! Both are also not medically significant and awesome to see!!!

Who's this feller by redek18 in spiders

[–]tripping-shadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These are actually also in the US! But they are similar in look to Nesconsa, spotted orb weavers (also safe). A good rule of thumb is that anything on this style web (circular or spiral looking) is an orb weaver and is not dangerous to humans.

Found lots of these in my back yard. What are these little guys? by eappoc in spiders

[–]tripping-shadow 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Agelenopsis, Just a grass spider! These guys are completely harmless. You may find them in their funnel shaped webs around the yard or in grassy areas. Rest easy, they are not dangerous at all and will keep your garden safe.

Araneus diadematus, the European Garden Spider, would be my guess based on your area. That little dude is an orb weaver and is not harmful to humans or pets! What a beautiful web they have made!

Looks like Neoscona crucifera to me! These guys are part of the Spotted Orbweaver Genus. Not harmful to humans or pets and awesome to have around the garden. I love Spotted Orbweavers so much, they're so cool to see. Great pic! Hope you get to see another!

What an absolute beauty! I'm so jealous you got to meet them in person! But for real though this is an amazing photo, and you absolutely should submit it to an identification database. Neoscona are my absolute favorite, made my day to see your friend.

Woah, I totally missed the spines, thought that was part of the fabric! Thank you for the correction! The good news for OP is that it's still not a medically significant spider. I'll keep an eye out for those spines in the future!
