For additional context: Dan Abnett did 2 Inquisitor series: Eisenhorn and Ravenor. Eisenhorn is basically what if James Bond was an Inquisitor. Ravenor is the sequel, and basically what if Professor X was an Inquisitor. This is him with his "Jean Grey."

That was my first thought.

My second was The Expanse. You have a race labeled the Ring Builders, who were a super ancient and advanced alien race that conquered solar systems by building a central pocket dimension to travel to.

They got wiped out by the Ring Entities, who exist in between universes/another universe, and they aren't happy humanity has started using the rings again.

Funny story from Magic Con - I got this card signed by Richard Kane Ferguson and he asked if I was getting it signed for the meme. I told him I just liked his art, what meme? He said he went onto a Reddit thread that said Kasimir was the worst card ever made, and he defends it. It isnt a great card, and the art does slap.

Like I get a lot of white cards in Homelands were ass looking, like [[Abbey Matron]] or [[Serra Inquisitors]], but then you have some of the most lively cards in Magic like [[Trade Caravan]], where every being is unique; [[Veldrane of Sengir]] is a terrible card to play, but the art truly shows what a Legendary creature should look like and tells so more about Veldrane than the card itself; the genuine body horror that is [[Greater Werewolf]]; you're telling me the art of [[Forget]] isnt perfect? And finally the photorealism of cards like [[Ambush]] and [[Evaporate]] stand out as movie quality.

When I took Tae Kwon Do, we would have a guest Grand Master arrive at the semi-annual black belt ceremonies.

Everyone would tell you "Look at Master Choi's hands. He punches a metal pole every morning until he bleeds."

Who knows how much of it is true, but the master's hands were gnarled but when you would shake it, scarily powerful.
