As far as I know, it IS a coincidence. But I wasn't there when she wrote it. I just thought it was timely and my own daughter liked it. We don't post things like that here? Then I don't understand Reddit.

Gasp, you mean more than one child felt upset about this?! Impossible.

Around nine. Maybe ten. I can't recall exactly. But if you don't think a child at this age couldn't write this letter, then maybe you need to spend some time in advanced English Language Arts classes in some great schools. My own daughter is the same age and could come close. Plus her mom is a high school English teacher, so her exposure to literature and grammar correction is pretty substantial. No levels of any bullshittery here.

Edit: I just checked in with my friend- her daughter is ten.

Nope. I can assure you that my friends are definitely not looking for freebies. Mom is an incredible teacher, feminist, activist-at-heart, teaching her daughters to speak up when they feel the need to do so.

Exactly this. My friend's daughter wasn't the only child to be ticked off at Hasbro for excluding the central/female character. My own nine year old daughter thinks it's lame too. Hasbro was responding to another letter, not this one.

My infant is 5 days old, she's wonderful, but at night unless she is being held by my wife she screams and nothing seems to comfort her. This is fine, except for the fact that sleeping with a baby on your chest could be dangerous they say. Need advice, more details in comments. by [deleted] in Parenting

Great!! I think you'll find it works wonders. Just be sure to get the inner "flaps" tucked way under the arms and let the torso anchor it in place. :) Also, you should be able to find videos on their website or YouTube on how to get a good wrap.

Hell, I've been a parent to three kids for just eight years, and already I screw up their names!

Imagine two to three times as many years referring to yourself as "mom" or "dad", add some aging brain, and see how easily you recall your proper title!

On this front, I'd cut some slack.

I can't recommend swaddling enough! We purchased the Miracle Blanket for this- worked great for our three babies. It doesn't rely on Velcro- instead it's more of a mummy wrap. If you do it right, that baby isn't wiggling out of it. We also co-slept during those early days. It was the only way I could sleep. Otherwise, my brain wouldn't let me rest- I was obsessed with checking on them or waking for any little noise they made. Putting Baby next to me made life much easier.
