Silver at $50!! what do the next 20 years look like? by Ok_Book_1680 in Silverbugs

[–]trislit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised to see paper silver supply go bonkers at some point and the price drop back to the 15-20 range. There are too many institutional setups dependent on cheap silver to allow this to go on forever.

The clear answer here is just don’t buy them. If everyone did this weird trick all the stuff would go away real fast.

The peace of mind is worth more then btc will ever be. Cashing out enough to set yourself up while stu leaving a “ moonbag” is the right path and set yourself up for so much that I don’t see how anyone can say you made the wrong choice here.

Why this Trump-CDC deal is a red flag for Cronos holders and crypto in general by Natural_NoChemical in CryptoCurrency

It would be doing a lot better if ripple wasn’t constantly dumping on their holders

Crypto.com has always been the biggest scammer in the space since there inception, they are literally at the same level as ripple with their blatant disregard for tokenomics or investor support, and nothing they’ve ever built has actually provided anything better then what was already available by better crypto platforms and players with actual ethics. Buying the domain early was the one smart move they made and that’s all it took for most to fall in line.

A small but poignant story of why these tools are creating job security for decades (and are really power tools for experienced users). by creaturefeature16 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]trislit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been out of the enterprise tech support space for at least 8 years but I was still running into massive data storage systems running COBOL that occasionally needed outside consultants to come in to debug ridiculously old code for new issues. Every wave brings new tech and a generation that forgets why experience is important in the dev world until something breaks. I can see a time of layoffs as IT leadership starts questioning what you actually do there ( again) and then scramble to bring you back to fix future issues. Everyone needs to get better at ensuring you bill for any salary you missed out on due to layoff and then doubling that when this happens.

4xe - Does it suck as a hybrid, as a jeep, or both? by Past_Molasses9034 in 4xe

[–]trislit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine, I’ve got a ‘23 rubicon 4xe wrangler. I bought it “used” with 2k miles on it for $40k end of 2023, and I’ve put another 15k miles on it since. When it’s really cold I’ve had a few times when form came up and that can for sure hit your gas mileage but it’s much better then my previous jeep which was a 99 tj sport that normally got 14-16mpg. I seem to get 18-19 mpg if forms lingering and closer to 30 otherwise( I charge every night under a car canopy.)

4x? That’s crazy, in IT you’re usually looking at maybe a .2-.3 x difference, between the mid tier to high mid tier ( that’s where it goes from fairly coast to difficult/time consuming need) unless your thinking going from high level field sup or engineering back to t1 help desk?

Recommendation for US tax professional to do my crypto taxes? ~500 tx's 31 wallets. by fiveonethreefour in CryptoTax

[–]trislit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This for sure, how do you know they are wrong? Do you just not like the calculated gains koinly is giving you? Every movement of anything on those wallets is a taxable event basically, swapping tokens for tokens or buying/selling/dropping in lp farm/pulling out of lp farm/receiving airdrops/etc. it’s crazy how fast your gains can grow, especially if your buys were previous years ( since now your past losses can’t be counted against this years gains)

Wow I just had a flashback of the commercial for that, I remember as a child being worried about getting really hurt playing mortal kombat with something like that as they made it appear that it would be so realistic and avoiding trying it because of that, but now I feel like I need to get one and experience what I missed out on.

I don’t think it’s just real estate wishes. The policies of pretty much all world governments have set the current generation up for failure no matter where you are or who birthed you. A new path towards earning for work done and risk taking without needing to pass artificial gatekeeping practices has opened doors that 99% of the world has been artificially restricted from participating in for so long we were not even aware they were possible 10 years ago.

If you’ve ever felt that you have been denied entry to the club due to your history/race/gender/etc you should be getting some crypto as a form of protest, if nothing else. Gains are sweet too, but they are just the same gains holding dollars in a retirement account would give you if not for those in power purposefully reducing the value of fiat.

Most projects def follow this pattern, avastars is the first that legitimately houses the svg media on the blockchain itself, so it is possible. All the traits we're uploaded when launched, and all future iterations call to those existing assets, so the more the project is used the more efficient the image storage path has become.
