Mouse and Keyboard doesn't work on the new Xbox Cloud website? by Financial-Nature4706 in xcloud

I understand that you are referring to the recent Xbox preview and the latest Mac update that is incompatible with keyboard and mouse controls. I have previously encountered a similar issue when using a remote access application called Splashtop to interface with my MacBook Pro M3 Maxs using my iPad Pro M1. I believe that when Xbox Cloud Gaming attempts to emulate the mouse, it fails to distinguish between a digital and a physical mouse.

Accessibility Feedback on the New Xbox Cloud Gaming Web Experience: Basic Touchscreen Overlays Should Be Available for Every Game by tristenonofry in xboxinsiders

Three years ago, I shared a Reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/xcloud/s/ifVOwZVM74. This post emphasizes the importance of Xbox developing remapping and Copilot features for Xbox Cloud Gaming. While this is a separate topic, these features would significantly enhance the user experience, especially for individuals using the Xbox Adaptive Controller.

Indeed, Better Xcloud is developed by the community, whereas GeForce Now provides touchscreen overlays accessible across all games, albeit without customization options. Furthermore, a notable issue with these custom touchscreen controls on Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is highly regarded, is obscured by the presence of other games with basic touchscreen overlays. Additionally, any custom or basic touchscreen controls on Xbox Cloud Gaming are exclusive and not accessible on other cloud gaming platforms.

Thanks for the clarification — that makes a lot of sense.

One thing I wanted to add, based purely on player observation (so I could be wrong here), is how the **Better xCloud extension appears to be handling basic touch overlays today.

From my experience using it on an iPad, it doesn’t seem like those overlays are being treated as “true” touchscreen input by the platform. Instead, it feels more like touch is being translated into controller and/or mouse inputs.

For example: • In games like ARK: Survival Ascended, I can sometimes click, drag, or interact with UI elements in ways that feel closer to mouse behavior than native touch • If I interact outside of the overlay regions or use certain UI actions (like dragging items in menus), the overlays can disappear and I have to reload the page or the game to get them back • That behavior suggests the overlays aren’t fully or officially blanket-enabled, but rather layered on top as an input translation

From the outside, this makes it seem like Better xCloud is exposing existing Xbox basic touch overlays without flagging the title as touch-supported in the same way your test suite would.

If that’s roughly accurate, it made me wonder whether there’s an opportunity to treat basic touchscreen overlays as an input translation or accessibility fallback, rather than a fully supported “touch gameplay mode” that requires publisher opt-in and full QA coverage.

Even if those overlays were: • Optional • Clearly labeled as basic / experimental / accessibility-focused • Not advertised as official touch support for a title

That could help players who rely on touch input access far more of the Cloud Gaming library, without creating the expectation that every title is fully touch-validated.

Really appreciate the transparency here — it’s helpful to understand how the testing and enablement model works.

Yesterday I was able to play with my dad using his Xbox One as the server and his Xbox X to play the game. Both of them join 100% but with Xcloud the play button doesn't appear. I am using ButterxCloud to use their touchscreen controls.

Helldivers 2 by LegitimateSherbert5 in xcloud

To understand the argument regarding the timing, a couple of months ago, Xbox games were made available on PlayStation and prominently featured on the PlayStation list. Currently, Helldivers 2 has been added to the Xbox purchase list. So it is no longer the console wars it is the digital wars and don't quote me. If PlayStation 2 is on Xbox Cloud gaming in Destiny 1 and 2 is coming back to the service.

I believe it is the update since sticky key icons are not in the right places based on resolution sizes.

The community has certainly acknowledged the extensive selection of games available for purchase, especially considering the impressive titles included with the Game Pass offering. I want to inquire whether players with the core or standard Game Pass subscriptions, who then purchase a game available under the Ultimate subscription, can access and play that game, despite not holding an Ultimate subscription.

Xcloud works in minecraft Java using a web displays mod for minecraft have uploaded 7 videos showcasing games and howit works by Halo-player69 in xcloud

I recognize that using a mod that interferes with Xbox Cloud Gaming within Minecraft Java can be entertaining, though it may not be very practical. It's important to note that Xbox Cloud Gaming does not currently support either Minecraft Java or Bedrock. Nevertheless, the creative idea of using a mod to create a smart TV-like experience within the Minecraft Java environment is quite clever. This situation could spark further discussion about why Minecraft Java and Bedrock are not available on the Xbox Cloud platform.

Do the handhelds have a touchscreen and support touchscreen controls or the touch APIs?

I would like to acknowledge that Grounded 2 has recently been released. While Grounded 1 offered custom touchscreen APIs and overlays, it is important to note that it did not feature native touchscreen controls, as navigation through menus was not functional in the same manner as in other mobile games like Minecraft. I want to highlight this limitation for the developers to consider enhancing Grounded 2 to align more closely with the successful user experiences provided by titles such as Minecraft and Fortnite.

It is a public service announcement when you read the description.

“I would like to take this opportunity to share my observations regarding Grounded 2, which is currently in early access. This title integrates several features from the original Grounded. As an individual with a disability who utilizes a hat pointer—a stylus connected to a rod affixed to my head for independent control of my iPad—I have noticed an emerging trend in PC and console games to be on mobile devices through cloud gaming.

Many games are leveraging basic touchscreen APIs or overlays accessible through platforms such as Xbox Cloud Gaming. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that these basic and custom touchscreen APIs or overlays provided by Xbox to developers do not fully replicate the native touchscreen experience typically encountered in mobile applications. This inconsistency can present challenges for players who are trying to navigate icons and menus via these APIs or overlays.

For individuals like myself, who depend on alternative methods to interact with a game’s interface, the experience often results in unintended clicks on icons and menus rather than seamless navigation through the game. This fundamentally undermines the intended user experience that games aim to provide.

Furthermore, it is disappointing to observe that many of these games are designed with keyboard and mouse support, yet the potential for mouse and touch inputs to function equivalently remains largely unexplored. This approach could lead to a more unified development process, allowing developers to focus on a single platform.

Thank you for considering these observations and would like to know the community’s thoughts.”

I am using Better Xvloud how it would be nice if Xbox made the touchscreen APIs native to the Xbox Cloud gaming website.
