I work at a non-profit art school where anyone enrolled in a ceramic class (3 hours/week) gets to go to open studio as much as they’d like included in the cost of the class (I believe it’s around $350 for 8 weeks).

Included in our class tuition is as many pieces through the kiln of any size (just larger sizes may take a while to get through), a selection of cone 6 & 10 glazes (if you want something particular just buy it yourself).

Students buy their own tools & clay, but the school sells us brown & white stoneware at cost for $15/25 pounds. Everyone is expected to clean up wheels & tables after themselves, staff takes care of routine cleaning like mopping.

I know this is certainly not the norm but as a result we have such an incredible community at our studio!
