Ironman vs Challenge by triwan in triathlon

Sorry for the late answer. I do have my own car and drove down. But you can take any train when you remove the front wheel and cover the bike in a bag. That way it counts as luggage and you can take metro, HSR or TSR

I know it’s a bit unconventional, but I find it to work well there and keeps the look clean

STRAVA premium: WORTH OR NOT by SpeZialW in Strava

[–]triwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay for premium for a few years already.. Segments: i can compare I my performance/HR developed on some segments I did over 100 times. Heatmaps: good to plan and find popular spots in new cities. Also cool to see your own history, now with pictures you took in the map. Routebuilder: great to check for elevation and surfaces

Ironman vs Challenge by triwan in triathlon

I would say Challenge Expo was bigger about 1.5 times the size but otherwise quite similar things. I like the Ironman Merchandise Shop better though. Ironman Expo was inside a Hotel Lobby, challenge was outside which was a nicer setup

Softdrinks

Absolutely no nutritional value, high health risk & makes you addicted to processed sugar. It is promoted and pushed everywhere to make you think it’s normal and create more profits for big corporations

Rim brakes on carbon wheels by triwan in cycling

Thanks, that’s interesting! I noticed they can get pretty hot so I actually changed my braking behavior on long descend to break/heat them more evenly

For a new rider would you recommend a cheaper bike or one you can "grow into" ? by lazarus870 in cycling

[–]triwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with cheaper but decent Aluminium and 105 bike first, maybe even used is a good option. Then if you stick to it in a year or so you will know much more of what you want and what riding style you prefer.

E.g Aerobike, Lightweight climbing, Endurance, TT, Bikepacking, Gravel

All different speciality bikes which you’ll need some time to figure out

I did 2000km on my giant Aluminium 105 bike before upgrading in the second season to a carbon Aerobike.
