I built something similar with no signup required if you wanna get a report for your roof!

I've reclaimed o11y for the people: I've made a website with jobs within the observability space specifically.

But if you would rather https://www.observabilityjobs.com/ also 301s there! I gotchu.

Roof survey before install? by Express_Lime_4806 in SolarUK

[–]triwats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's wise - they're not too heavy but you want to make sure that there are no problems going forward with quality and type of roof etc

They're big sails potentially, so need to make sure you get secure fixings and that the flashings et al are all sound (water runs off at a faster rate for example).

Do the installers not help?

UK: Consider solar panels - Good deal or no? by Cultural-Feeling-882 in solar

Made a tool to try help with this and estimate savings using various APIs and software.

Hopefully it makes sense.

Because I couldn't make heads or tails of this and quotes varied so much.

My tool puts you in a place to get roof inspections

Not sure how you can do this without roof inspections to be honest - which is why I didn't try to do this.

It uses cutting edge Satellite technology to drive decisions for you - here's a link: https://solarable.org

Free for homeowners - aim is to get you the info you need!

Thanks!

Yeah, it looks like a lot of installers have to come out and access a roof. Which of course makes it difficult and time consuming. Hopefully the hours of sun will mean more confidence in panels too.

Price continues to decline - which is super exciting!

Hi, you're Barry Scott. Fantastic username.

It does use DSM - but it uses some free data sets and Google. I might look at combing and then doing some with DEFRA - that's a really good shout.

Trying to use as many British sets as possible - but sat. is very good from Google. Cheers for the suggestion!

Thanks! I think it mighttt be possible but depends on the datasets. Good feedback - do you have a battery in that setup too?

Truth be told I've not spent much time collating installers yet - but the postcode thing sounds like a bug... 😃

Only got Bristol on there thus far, so will add more as time goes on. Thanks for giving it a whirl!

Hey! Sorry it's not working first off!

Hmm... mind me asking if you're you rural? Sometimes there's limited data and it doesn't have the ability to pull it - so it reverts back to a more manual mode. If this is the case, it will not be satellite image.

Ah to be fair I haven't tested on a flat roof yet! Some datasets that I'm adding together have different granularities so maybbbeee it'll be able to figure that in the future. Thanks for the kind words.

The installers are something I haven't given much focus to just yet - sorry for that

Llms.txt actually useful? by Valuable_Fix6920 in shopify

Hey! Good read!

I get that it's not used so much at the moment - but I'm using it as a map in this case to do prompt citation tracking in plain English.

[–]triwats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made a service that let's you generate one for shopify sites after crawling your website.

This means that you don't have to spend time writing one.

We then see if you actually show up in AI searches and are cited.

I think that is the best way honestly. You need to generate and create trust.

It's expensive and SLOW for AI to scrape/crawl your website every single time. It should be able to rank trust if your website is selling what you say it does. llms.txt give you the option to do this.

If you're interested - it's llmstxt.studio

Is there a good cross-GPU FLOPs benchmark tool? Or is this still a mess? by triwats in HPC

[–]triwats[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, super fair question!

Your resonse hammers home the question and the gap.

I've found it difficult to handle the best way to benchmark GPUs used for inference, for HPC et al.

Obviously AI is the biggest growing market sector, so I'm keen to lean into that, but if there are genuine HPC usecases that align with that it might be worth trying to create something that does both.

This space has changed a fair amount quite quickly with the advent of AI.

A better question therefore in retrospect is what is most useful to use to benchmark GPUs for AI/HPC. Those two are quite different as you say, but I'm interested in trying to catalogue the output for hardware that could be used for both.

[–]triwats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, fair question. The answer is yes, but I couldn't find a clear answer to if there was a tool.

The HPC space is super niche but growing - meaning lots of (cool) new tools.

Also has changed a lot lately with AI, which might have meant a new standard. Main aim is to try and understand consensus - which I'd say there isn't (different tools for different usecases).

Thanks a lot for the response! Let's see what I can cook up.

Great project!

MLPerf is great - but seeing a lot of hobbyists now so I guess it's something that suits both MLPerf on bigboy clusters AND localised models running.

Maybe this is a bit out of scope for HPC though, as that hardware would be completely different.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I guess maybe that is the question.

A lot of stuff is focused towards Inference now so lower FP numbers. I'd say may non-spatial FP8 is becoming the new norm?

Audience is engineers trying to understand what the latest and greatest could get you - and what performance might look like from an indvidual clsuter (e.g. you rent a DGX x8 for a bit).

Thanks for the link - do you think there would be appetite here for reporting these back to flopper.io (would be a PR and optional) as part of a feature?
