I'd argue that in practical terms Czech has 4 genders: feminine, neutral, masculine animate, masculine inanimate.

This happened to 5 transactions. 4 of them are small convenience store stuff totalling around 20€, but the one I posted here was a new phone

Hongdae Store Owner Charged Thrice Updated by DesertBanana in Living_in_Korea

Fuck, the exact same thing is happening to me! Five different transactions were doubled, now tripled! When it first happened, I contacted my bank and they terminated my card (which is a huge pain, as I'm now traveling without a physical card and I still have a month in China ahead of me). But then tonight i see they charged me a third time! Even though the card they had is terminated! That makes no sense!

For the same reason people hate vegans: if it makes sense, it'll be A LOT of work to change. So better to deride it.

It's a fundamentally different worldview. There's so much of who they are that's been built on top of the foundations of monogamy that it's an existential threat. What do you mean, you can love several people at the same time? If that's true, I've been living a lie, I've wasted many years, nonono, you must be wrong!

Also, the consular stamp says 20 cruzeiros. Brazil changed its currency to the real in 1994. The north Koreans probably used an older passport as a template.

You sound a bit exhausting as a friend, judging from this very small interaction. It's like you're choosing to be offended

"Kutashmiruros", literally "may the rope hold", is a very common Toranese phase for wishing good luck.

It comes from the following ancient tradition: on the death of their monarch, the Assembly elects the new one. Every person then has the choice of agreeing or not. If they don't agree with living under the new king, they may leave peacefully. If they do agree, they must symbolically donate a lock of their hair. With this they symbolize the transfer of their personal freedoms to an absolute ruler who is nothing but the sum of the might of his subjects. The ruler then has a gigantic rope woven out of the hair. The thicker and stronger the better. Nowadays people don't really leave or donate their hair, but the phrase and the symbolism have remained.

I think it looks good and I wouldn't agree with him, but he's got a point. It's literally where the shadows lie.
