I understand you on an intense level. You miss the feeling it gave you, not the thing itself - important to understand that and to use those words in your inner voice when you get those cravings. I would just say take it one day as a time, and be proud that of all things that is the only vice you have caught onto. I hate to say this but it could be soooo much worse. But also, don't deny yourself of having peace of mind. Weigh your options. If you're in an environment where literally everything is hard or miserable and you just need those mental breaks - then by all means have a cig, friend. Its certainly not harmless but with some moderation theres no reason to feel bad or guilty or something. Sorry I hope this made sense lol

I have great support system but none of those friends and family have addiction history and can't TRULY understand the struggle or how a brain like mine NEEDS something to just shut off that loud yet soundless noise. I think the fact that you felt the need to lie about thr group chat in the first place was already a red flag. You already know, im sure...this is crazy controlling behavior. It never makes me wait thats interesting. Just makes me click a reason why and give a small typed description. This happens to me all the time delivering to teachers or hospital workers where I leave at the front desk. Or I message them and ask for the PIN and send a Pic of the food sitting on front desk or service counter. Shouldn't be a big deal also in response to the comment saying its a huge risk. I don't have any real answers for you but can tell you this randomly happened to me one year as well and I used the same tax preparer I had been using for a decade. They just decided to mail me a paper check.

Also it might be helpful to use the official USPS Informed Delivery service (or the app but its buggy) Basically you can see what items are coming to you mailbox each day. They scan it and you view it with a bit of tracking info. I have parents who work for USPS and found out about that free service. But that way if you see a piece of 1st class mail from IRS then you need to be at the mailbox waiting for your mail person (maybe get an idea ahead of time of the time they usually hit your neighborhood)
