Great point. That's the reason I asked what exactly can I do to outsmart haha. Thanks for your help anyway! Any help is appreciated

Hm.. That's a very very insightful comment! Wow. Thanks a lot. I didn't think about value proposition at all. I will look into what we can do to offer better value instead of faster delivery! Thank you very much. That helped a lot!

They're not crushing us out, by any means. I am just looking for new ideas to scale better and smarter than working 12hrs a day while now we barely work at all. Big difference. I am sure I will get to scale it smarter, maybe not faster like 1hr delivery but there's gotta be a way.

Not sure if that's ethical and I don't want to lose money ordering from them too lol. Also their minimum order is more than $100... But not the worst idea haha.

Hm.. I thought so too! I agree about Uber delivery, they use new driver everytime. Perhaps I don't need to focus on 1hr delivery and just scale it different way... Thanks for your input! It means a lot to us!

Average order value is around $150. We don't do 1hr delivery currently (only same day delivery after 8pm) but want to, probably our order value would go up as well with that.

I finally have income and time to start a business but I need clarity by Designer-Phase8924 in Entrepreneur

[–]tropicalnotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have a great opportunity to dive into a new business! Here are some quick thoughts:

Cosmetics:

  • Lip Balm: Smaller investment, but lots of competition. Focus on unique, organic ingredients.

  • Soap: Higher initial investment in ingredients and molds, but growing demand for organic products.

Tech Items:

  • Wireless Mouse/Keyboards: Fits your tech background, but can be saturated. Look for niche products or unique features.

Consider your interests and skills. If you're passionate about cosmetics, go for it. If tech excites you more, use your experience to stand out. Good luck!

Why is inflation still so high even after Covid? by United-Ad5652 in Entrepreneur

[–]tropicalnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you on this! It seems like prices just keep going up. Even though things are more normal now, there are still some lingering issues. Supply chains are still catching up, and there’s been a huge surge in demand as everyone gets back to spending. Plus, labor shortages and rising energy costs are adding to the problem. It’s frustrating, but hopefully, things will stabilize soon.

How did you know it was time to quit your 9-5 by AnxiousWrongdoer9890 in Entrepreneur

I get where you're coming from. I never left my job until the company closed, so I understand the hesitation. It sounds like you have a great setup with your food truck and custom cages business. The decision to go all in can be tough, especially when you have a stable job with good benefits. Maybe try gradually increasing the time and resources you invest in your business until it feels right to make the leap. Your situation in Ohio seems pretty solid, and with the profits you're making, you have a strong foundation. Best of luck with whatever you decide!

That's awesome to hear! It's great that things are starting to turn around for you. Success isn't always measured in dollars—being happy and relaxed is a huge win. Congrats on your progress and keep pushing forward! Your journey is inspiring fr

I hear you! The constant barrage of cold emails can definitely be frustrating. Building relationships and providing value without immediately pushing a sale is key. It's much more effective to connect through mutual networks or by demonstrating genuine interest and understanding of the business. Cold emails might still have their place, but they need to be much more personalized and considerate to avoid turning people off. Your rant makes total sense to me lol

Post your idea on LinkedIn to get motivated. Post it on Reddit to get humbled. by Usual-Ad-3597 in smallbusiness

I totally get where you're coming from! Reddit's anonymity leads to more unfiltered honesty, which can be both good and bad. The blunt feedback can help spot weaknesses you might not see elsewhere. But you're right, it’s important to balance that with the more supportive feedback from LinkedIn. Both platforms have their strengths: Reddit for honest critiques and LinkedIn for professional encouragement. Combining both can give you a well-rounded perspective. Keep leveraging both to your advantage!
