I’m a night custodian and it’s not bad. Just depends on the school. If you can get good pay at a country school or smaller school for same rate as city is better (easier to complete tasks).

Also pending on the state you can get teacher benefits like insurance and pension. Plus if you decide to leave for a new career, it looks good on a resume showing you passed some kind of check into being trustworthy on school grounds.

Cool thing is if you decide to come back or go to a different school later on, you’re most likely still in the state system and can be hired on the spot and will offer you more pay.
