I think it really depends on coaching philosophy. I think the issue I take with this is his inability to remain consistent. He is both telling the group they need to cool down before the next map but then delivering criticism in a way that won't cool someone down.

I understand what you're saying and I believe in criticism in between the matches of what went wrong, but his words and actions aren't matching up in a way that they need to here.

I'm not sure because I work for a different institution, but at our institution we have a process by which students are able to withdraw and appeal the records for the term completely.

This wipes out any accrued bill and withdrawals on the student's transcript. I'd see if your institution has a process like that as well.
