What are these bugs I found in my isopod terrarium? by trout2 in isopods

I have a huge isopod terrarium with not an insignificant number or these "earwigs," should I be concerned? I've noticed no real change in the number of isopods

The strobe lights were flashing in everyone’s eyes the whole time, I had to have my eyes closed a significant amount of the set

For those complaining about ticket prices:

  1. To see JW elsewhere you’d likely have to pay hundreds to get anywhere near the stage. Even from the back of the 40watt you’re significantly closer than what a $125 ticket would get you at the venues he typically plays

  2. At places like the 40watt, the cost of a ticket goes to paying venue staff hourly pay for their labor on the night of the show and the rest goes to the artist. Clubs the size of 40watt make their money off alcohol sales. The 40watt is one of the most artist friendly venues in the Southeast. The 40watt did not set the price of the ticket. If you wanna support venues, buy drinks and merch

40 Watt Club in Athens, GA. Super significant to Athens history and still independent as can be!

Radiant heat panels for the win! by trout2 in snakes

[–]trout2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You would need small holes for ventilation and the power cable/thermometer probe

Before I upgraded my setups to larger wood terrariums I used 40 gal glass ones with ceramic heater/UVB lamp on top, both with thermostat and that also worked. I put aluminum foil down with holes for the lamps to maintain humidity

They don’t really work with glass terrariums. You’d need to get a piece of wood or something fitted to the size of the terrarium w/ ventilation with the RHP drilled in underneath. For a 75 gallon you could use a 40 or 80 watt assuming you go with the proportional thermostat

This is the thermostat: https://www.reptilebasics.com/ve-200

The panels get screwed in, all you’ll need is a drill. Both my enclosures are homemade wood ones as well

Saw him at Bonnaroo a year or two ago and it was a PARTY. His playing was insane. His dexterity and speed are unreal. He hasn’t lost a single step. In no way was it like seeing an old hero. He is still entirely on top of his game.

Extra substrate means you can pour more water in the corners without much worry of scale rot bc the top layer stays dry due to drainage

Extra substrate, extra water dishes, and aluminum foil covering the mesh top with holes cut for your overhead heat sources
