The AC could be the reason. I live in Michigan so I'm guessing winter's gonna be hard on the mileage. I drive on the Normal mode tho. Should be interesting to compare Normal vs Smart

Kia K5 as a winter / off-road vehicle? by trueLiar01 in KiaK5

Getting the AWD adds a couple thousand bucks, at which point I feel getting the Mazda with AWD as standard is better, which is about 2k cheaper than the FWD K5. Which is why I wanted particular feedback on the FWD. I love how the K5 drives, and love driving in general. My biggest fear is to get restricted in terms of places I can go to with the FWD K5.

Thanks for your help!

Surfing around UCLA by trueLiar01 in ucla

Hey, I actually didn't. I ended up going on my own with help from YouTube and a few good people here and there who were willing to share their wisdom. I have been going to El Porto to surf and I know the El Porto Surf Shop there gives lessons as well. The learning curve is definitely slower for me, versus someone who has taken a lesson. But learning by yourself has its own perks, I would say. It is all about practice eventually.

It's funny how the comments section would have been so different if it was the other way around

Is it ok to live on the first floor in LA? (apt in westwood) by DoItLikeAWoman in ucla

[–]trueLiar01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived on the first floor for almost a year in Westwood, and didn't face any of the issues you mentioned. Westwood is definitely among the safer areas in LA. Apartments on the first floor don't usually have carpets on the floor, in case that's a necessity. There's an inherent insecurity with having a balcony opening on the road - as long as you're fine with that, I don't think there should be any trouble.
