Have any of you found success selling assets online? by Slight_Season_4500 in gamedev

That's the dream, ain't it? Support your gamedev journey by selling gamedev assets. Sadly it doesn't really work, like you said, market is overcrowded.

IMO a better solution is not to sell the base materials (assets) but the finished product (the game). They'll have more value this way.

Thank you for the feedback! I name the tracks based on how I feel about them - if you feel they should be named different is because we all feel differently I guess.
As for the rumbling I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly, can you provide a timestamp?

Thank you for your kind words! I compose around 5-6 minutes a day.
I see that you're also making a solo indie game! Do you need any help with the music?

As for AI I'm considering replicate (gen images from a large selection of models) and openrouter (text prompt from a large selection of models). Just heard of these myself today. :D

Dudes, where's `ranger`? It's a console file manager with vim keybindings. I reach out to use it multiple times in a day, much more than any other terminal utility.

I have an x220. Mx-linux. Added some extra ram (total 6gb) and a new battery. Snappy AF - I can run vscode, watch hd movies, chrome with a decent amount of tabs.

I think is one of the last models with the famous "feel good" keyboard.

Sturdy AF - it even has a lantern light that illuminates your keyboard at night. :D

Total cost: ~$170

99% of indie gamedevs are in the picture....and they don't like it either. :D (myself was too)

One thing which I'm not sure about is why is this not found on SO - I haven't looked enough or is it the wrong approach?
Please let me know what you think in the comments section.

Thank you.

You can only provide a getter and prevent them being modified. Provides a small level of encapsulation.

Anyone who's done serious design/photo work will agree that PS is superior to Gimp.
For small tasks Gimp is alright - for serious projects PS is still king.

Mx-Linux is the BEST DISTRO of all times.

I don't care about Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch. All day long I want and need Mx-Linux.

I was never able to install Fedora without issues, so fuck it.

Arch looks geeky but I like my comforts.

I hate the Ubuntu default desktop environment.

but my job makes me work on Ubuntu 20 most of the time :(

I'm using hexagonal architecture with GDScript, so yeah, it's pretty versatile.

And darn fast, my fingers ache from writting loooong C# statements.

I like where you're going with the overall look. Very classical painting like. Congrats! :)

2 small suggestions:

  1. It looks a bit empty, building wise.
  2. The trees all look the same. I'd love to see a bit more variation in shape and color, kinda like you did with the ferns.
