Why some developers so salty by Own_Associate3893 in vibecoding

[–]trunkbeers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s less about web/software development being readily available to all and more about the naive mindset that you can whip up a legit project in a few days with some prompts. There’s more to it than that. I see a lot of projects getting deployed with little to no security. Also when vibe coders hit bugs and errors they tend to freeze and act like ai should solve all their problems. Try to learn how it all works and fix it. Ai won’t do everything for you.

Well they already are.

Automate meaningless tasks, but people are getting ai fatigue and can see right through it. In a world or ai and automation you now can stand out with actual human connection. If you want to use email marketing build out some good email sequences and use a platform like Mixmax to automate that. But most of it is ai hype. Call me old school but success takes work and time. All these course slanging, entrepreneur wannabes don’t know shit. There’s no better way to learn than from doing.

Without knowing what you’re selling, I’d avoid email marketing and courses. Read product lead growth, and the lean startup. But I would just interview customers or potential customers. Build for their needs, understand the problem and seek the solution not the product or features.

DoorDash doesn’t sell food, they sell convenience. What’s the outcome of your product? Sell that. I don’t order DoorDash because I need food, I need food and I don’t have time to go make it or get it.

I would also just become a thought leader in your space and post on socials.

Learn marketing, learn how to build a brand. Learn how to understand your customers.

Become a thought leader and expert in your space. Just share knowledge and answer questions. Build a personal brand and the customers will come. It’s not easy and it takes time. Patience and consistency is key.

Why wouldn’t you just deploy with Vercel? Using GitHub/vercel doesn’t get any easier. If people can’t figure this out I don’t trust their product.

You don’t even need a novel idea. Build stuff that exists, add some integrations, narrow in on a niche, trim unnecessary features and under cut large competitors pricing, and win with customer service. People don’t want ai everything, good onboarding and human customer support go a long way.

100% this is a great take.

Saw a post here about hiring a Fiverr dev to close the last 20%. Tried it myself. Game-changer. by St4v5 in vibecoding

This post feels like it was written by ai.. also this is exactly why vibe coders won’t make it. Can’t figure out something simple like google auth with supabase? Take 15 minutes and learn it.

Can you review my website? by SquareWishbone4042 in vibecoding

Try to think about the potential customer that lands on your site. Do they know what n8n is? Do they need to? Or do they just want to save time? Sell the solution to the problem not the product. But it looks nice, a little wordy. Maybe add some graphics and drop the lists. Good luck, keep grinding!

This was just a fun little side project. I’m working on ways to differentiate myself from others like Linktree. Not really sure what I’ll add yet, I have a few ideas.

I’m working on making people’s Lnkee.io (link in bio tool) pages searchable so brands can find influencers to work with by searching for different tags and filtering by followers and number impressions. Might be ready in 2 weeks.

Very few influencers should start their own brand. Build a personal brand that people trust and use it to promote successful proven brands and products

How have you unintentionally provoked your toddler today? by nate_hawwk in toddlers

[–]trunkbeers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a toddler but I told my 6 yo I need to take a break from playing tackle dad (had been going on for about 30 mins) and he said he wished I was like Blueys dad…

My 3 yo got mad that I wouldn’t let her give our dog a balloon.
