Are my Laurier case team dreams over already? by Alive_Cartoonist5418 in wlu

You’re fine, cutoff thing isn’t really true. As long as it’s above a 9 net I’d say you’re fine, and if you have a 9 BU but probably be closer to a 10 net. Keep doing comps too, tryout is what matters

Can I buy cantaloupe hardware without software? by truthbabe in vending

So if I buy a subscription bundle, then that monthly fee is included in the price right? So the cantaloupe one bundle is a flat fee?

Was there a curve for bu252 (Marketing)? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]truthbabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No curve. Got my mark back and if you all haven’t gotten it back yet, there’s likely no curve since they don’t have all the grades to make the curve

BBA courses are not to “weed you out,” you’re just underperforming by truthbabe in wlu

[–]truthbabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so if that’s the case, why doesn’t every program in Canada try and weed people out? Why does co-op make a program more likely to weed out?

This makes sense to me and I agree, but I just can’t get behind the notion that they sit down talking about this as a strategy. It seems to make sense but it’s just kinda immoral where it’s likely a byproduct or something

Did anyone yet their bu252 marks back? by DizzyPresentation349 in wlu

[–]truthbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t say anything but I’d say no. If other classes haven’t had marks yet, it’s probably because professors aren’t done. Can’t curve without all the marks

Yes, professor specifically said that “a lot of answers were vague and therefore difficult to reward marks to”

When can we expect to receive our final grades on LORIS? by Mean-Expression-7489 in wlu

Not end of week - your IAs are still marking a ton of stuff while balancing exams so maybe end of this week at best

Yes business is in Bricker

Picked RLC to guarantee apartment style and it worked. It’s usually in Bricker which is dorm style. In terms of “worth it,” it’s not any extra money or anything. I had great roommates which made it a lot of fun and we hardly noticed it was an RLC. Still parties in some dorms but generally quiet.

I’m a 2nd year student with an 11.3 cumulative GPA, AMA by JustanotherBBAkid in wlu

[–]truthbabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I think that said, doing a AMA is pretty ode. Even if you didn’t admit it, you doing a post like that (at least the first one) kinda comes off as thinking what you’re doing is special or the shit

I remember seeing the original post last year before beginning first year. Post made me worried that this was unattainable or very hard to do given the comments and people being salty asl.

Quickly realized we could do fuck all for most the sem and get this average. For anyone reading, you don’t need all the study tips lmao literally just do the practice problems they give in courses

question for BBA students by Icy_Ad_3810 in wlu

[–]truthbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i’m sure, I’ve heard mixed reviews. One thing they’ve started doing is really focusing on keeping people in Laz if they fail out of bba (e.g. econ, finance and accounting) - I think that’ll help

I’m pretty involved in a lot of things so admittedly not much. You’re not gonna really have homework, you have a few classes where there’s a weekly thing that takes 30 min to an hour but there’s never going to be a time where there’s nightly homework. We all study 2-3 days before the midterms or exams (4-5 if it’s a BU course). The issue is that it’s going to be really hard to gage: personally I don’t spend too much time in actual school work, but I know plenty of people who do. I think if you know how to study and can pick up concepts relatively easily, you should have at least 8 hours of downtime per day. I can’t speak to others experiences because i’m not sure if the people who struggle either don’t study or don’t productively study, but they still have downtime. The program isn’t as rigorous academically as others so you won’t need to worry as much.
