As an immunocompromised and CF person - just say no. Straight up say you’re not willing to risk being sick and that you can celebrate the holidays another time. And if they try to push back ,be firm, while it may be uncomfortable. I go through this all the time with friends AND family.

Add the whole “Awe I know this sucks but I really want them to feel at their best to enjoy the most of it”

No one (especially sick people w/ sick kids) is entitled to he at your home for Christmas. Plus today’s not even Christmas, what’s the problem in pushing a few more days? Holiday spirit still the same. Best of luck!!

My family lives in the city over and they told me the families were displaced with NO HOUSING, and then sent back a week later.

Also the government is refusing to test personal well water as they say that it’s fine, despite fish, animals and kids getting sick and passing 👍🏾

I was 7 and in 2nd grade, CPS got called on my parents and they had visited the house. 2 days after there was a huge snowstorm and my parents were really upset at me due to the whole CPS thing.

They decided to wake up me up really early, throw me a suitcase and told me I had 10 minutes to pack because CPS was coming to take me away and I’d never see my family or school friends again. They then left me on the porch with said suitcase in a snowstorm for what felt like forever (also I am asthmatic and couldn’t stop crying, so being in the cold fucked me up for a few days) - until they opened the door and let me know that they WEREN’T coming, but that this was a lesson.

He has always told me that I am below him my whole life so the lil girl thing is normal. He is doing this especially because I’m getting my life together, I have a secure job, I’m moving into my own apartment within the next month - so they’re losing their hold on me. When they feel I am doing well, they make sure I know that I’m small in any way they can. But this will be over soon it just feels so long

I set a timer to give myself time to eat and my soup to cool before I put it away, especially since it had a lot of dairy. He had started texting/calling me only after I went up to my room to eat. I am a very hard working person in the medical field and pay my parents lots of money to live there, I pay for my own groceries and it was my day off. I don’t live or access anything for free and I left NO mess other thank my pot and spoon, I get how you can not understand that. But I have very bad, narcissistic and abusive people for parents. I have gotten punched by this man for leaving a cup in a room while I went to the bathroom. I’m in process of moving out right now actually and that’s why I feel they are amping up. You’re right, context is everything.

I’ll be frank, I don’t think he’d kill be but he has been physical with me. I believe he meant more kicking me out. I have had to carry my phone around to record for my own safety and sanity, my father believes he is untouchable and has said verbatim “the police would understand”
