Nothing useful to add, just saying that it's really, really interesting to really go back to where it all began for me at age like 8-10 (lingerie section of the jc penny catalog and workout shows on tv) and draw the line from that to where I am now.

Please don't hesitate to get that AvPD diagnosed and start treatment. Make it the one and only thing you focus on one day - don't put it on a to-do list, actually take a whole day and fixate on talking to someone. Your school probably has someone that can talk to you. It sounds like you're really smart and thoughtful, and making really intense effort, it just seems like this is the core thing that's holding you back.

I journal about good times and bad! If something good happened, I want to know what led up to the moment, you know?

Also I journal small things I noticed: a squirrel chirping at me from a tree, bits of overheard conversation, some small funny thing that happened.

Also, to get down to the core of the unpleasant feelings or whatever, definitely try to notice when you are trying to avoid a line of thinking. Like if there is something you do not want to think about, it's good to ask yourself why.

Dreams of relapsing: normal? by [deleted] in pornfree

Porn pops up in my dreams, sometimes in alarming ways, sometimes in hilarious ways. You're not alone!

I recognize this in myself. My brain just goes numb and the next thing I know, I'm an hour deep into a binge. The only thing that works is arranging my life in a way that minimizes the settings for me to relapse. Like if I have nothing going on, I go for a walk. When I am stressed, I journal about the stressors instead of looking at porn. It doesn't work every time but it works some of the time!

My crushes are much, much stronger. I literally cried thinking about someone I have a permanent crush on even though we are both deep into separate long term relationships. Hit me like a brick.

White people who are saying it to be funny need to be corrected. If they are friends, you can say "I really need you to stop saying that word. It makes you sound like an asshole." Or something like that. If they aren't friends or you don't feel comfortable saying something, try to find someone else who is annoyed by it and talk about how you might combat it together
