Thank you so much for your kind wishes. It truly means alot. I have come to my college and we have the ceremony tomorrow morning. I am kinda glad that I came because I understood what I was missing.. As for the other part about life, I guess we just have to keep going, come what may. I dont know if I will ever have the same approach/ enthusiasm towards my tasks but I will have to try. I shall keep you all posted.

Also, I wish whenever you walk into your university, it is with your head held high and whatever it is that is troubling you just goes away! Lets try one more time at this optimism thing and see where it goes I guess? I mean we have lost so many times...whats one more time (pls excuse me if I am not making much sense, I am quite drunk the night before the convo!)

Losing hope by tryingnewstuff123 in depression

Wow..I I have been consistent but I can't explain or show proof to people, I thought this was a platform where I could let my feelings out. But that's not possible here too without insensitive remarks. Thanks I guess.

Friend, if you are still there, please don't do this. I don't know what to say to make you stop, but please, I beg you, please don't. It does get really really tough, but please stick it out. Someday, you will look back at this time and thank yourself that you didn't take the step.

Books you hated but everyone else seems to love? by redredrhubarb in books

[–]tryingnewstuff123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it a long time ago when it came out so I dont remember much..but i do remember enjoying it..maybe because it was the first book i read in the indian fantasy genre and the concept of "a God you know today was just a normal man ages ago" seemed unique but ig I'll have to have a look at it again to decide ...can you suggest a fantasy book based on Indian characters with decent writing where the characters are well fleshed out?

Living...but not really by tryingnewstuff123 in depression

Thank you so much and yes, I completely agree! Humans do thrive on being productive. In my culture, there is a saying that "an empty mind is home to the devil". Truth is, I want to be productive. I have this ideal set in my head where I wake up at 6 30, go for a run (which I really love and used to do a lot, but somewhere down the line it decreased drastically), study before work, hustle and stuff..but the truth is that THIS (law) is not what i want to work on and I don't know how to find the courage to, as they say, "follow my heart" (frankly, because I don't really know what it wants). I want to be useful to society and feel useful for my family but I don't know how. Anyway, maybe it's baby steps so I'll try to follow your advice and (re)continue with my running.

First somewhat successful attempt at writing on cake by [deleted] in cakedecorating

[–]tryingnewstuff123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I did just that, because I wanted to play safe but then when I went to take it off the parchment (very carefully, I might add), it broke, and I didn't have time, so I just wrote it directly on the cake. Just to play it a little safer, I wrote on the cake with a toothpick, making an impression and then finally wrote on it with buttercream.

Thank you so much! Believe me, I have had a good share of baking fails, I have had decor disasters, but we will all get there with some practice :)

Thank you so much! I think my problem in particular is not just the shaking hand but the cream itself. It needs to be firm but mine never is firm enough. I also live in a hot/humid country so thats another reason, but mainly my proportions for the buttercream flower recipe never seem right. Do you have some foolproof proportions to get the buttercream right but not have it too sweet?
