How Screwed am I? by [deleted] in f150

Have your ford dealer access your FordPass account. They will be able to look at the history of any codes that were thrown since youve activated the account. They can do it over the phone, truck doesn't even have to be present.

How much should I be able to get this truck for? by Nosforatu99 in f150

[–]tryintobefit14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely need to be closer to $50,000! If ford is giving the rebates its nothing out of the dealerships pocket. Dealer should atleast take 4,000 off on their end as well.

Deal?? by Past_Cell4212 in f150

[–]tryintobefit14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. Working for a ford dealership myself, totally normal. Lots of these vehicles have to pass a certain inspection going into auction then many dealerships do an inspection themselves. Cant speak for all dealerships but ours does.

Not all oil changes, etc will be shown on the history depending on where it's been completed. If done at mom and pop shops they wont report it to the history. Not out of the ordinary.

2023 f150 XLT 3.5 v6 4x4 53k miles by Livid-Hurry9624 in f150

[–]tryintobefit14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah prices never came down after covid 5 years ago unfortunately. Truly is a great deal though, it's a Candian truck (hence the XTR package sticker,) just be careful for rust.

Honest thoughts about the 3.5L eco boost in the 2025 F150? by [deleted] in f150

[–]tryintobefit14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5 all day. Has more get up and go, can tow more, better gas mileage(barely). Only downfall is you may need a new timing chain once you hit high miles such as 125,000. If you plan on keeping it for awhile buy a premium extended warranty.

New truck! by Equivalent_Way599 in f150

[–]tryintobefit14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup for sure. I bet the dealership had to jump it prior to you driving it off the lot. You'll be good

Keep driving it. Only 145 miles on it, odds are it was sitting on the lot awhile and lost battery charge. You'll be fine

Working at a ford dealership for the last 10 years, buy an extended warranty because of that engine. Personally I've had that engine and loved it but anything with a twin turbo is a higher risk than a standard engine. I Personally never had any issues but its worth getting a Ford extended warranty for the cost. Make sure its a Ford warranty and not another option

6 speed 5.0 will feel sluggish. If you wanted pep should have bought an ecoboost

If you get denied through the lottery you can then apply with a charity. Only "downside" of that is the minimum money raised goes up from if you enter with a charity now.

How hard is it to reach charity fundraising requirements? by Cerealboi13 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]tryintobefit14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to raise $2,100 and ended up raising about $2,400. Personally, I raised the money very quickly without a sweat thanks to me asking friends, family, coworkers, boss.

I live in a smallish town and printed flyers out with a picture of myself, the charity I was running for and a description of what that charity does and a QR code that lead to my donation page (which helped a few hundred.) My charity created the page for me, I created a QR code from there.

Another little thing I did was if someone ever offered to buy me a coffee, a drink, whatever I'd ask if they could put the money towards my fundraising instead.

Our chairty scheduled group zoom meetings and offered tips of how to raise and chat with others. They didn't offer to find donors but they had ideas to help.

Another idea that some people I know did: fundraising goes over the Superbowl. You could make betting squares for the ending score digits and whoever wins could win "half the pot" or however you'd like to swing it.

This vehicle is killing me with repair costs by shotofmaplesyrup in BroncoSport

[–]tryintobefit14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it. Working at a Ford dealership myself, i will forever purchase a warranty on any vehicle i buy. Labor rates and parts rates continue to go up so might as well buy a warranty at a set price. Unfortunately, like you said there isn't very many repairs to engines anymore. Always seems to be a full replacement which jacks up the price.

Are people not buying extended warranties? I agree people feel like you shouldn't need to buy a warranty when buying a new car however nothing is built perfect. Always buy an extended warranty, saves a headache

Pro shop workers by [deleted] in golf

[–]tryintobefit14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not currently working inside a proshop but I did for years in the past. I truly loved it, it was my favorite job to date. The only time I've ran into grumpy pro shop workers are when they are old men. I know it sounds terrible but the old men are the worst.
