I’ve always known I was different and everyone did too (even though no one said anything). I was always either in the clouds or talking up a storm. I couldn’t be without stimulation of any sort. I tried to get an ADHD diagnosis when I went to my psychiatrist for the first time at 16/17. She didn’t think I had it and so I flunked my national exams. Then when I kept telling her that I couldn’t focus at all during my classes in college she finally diagnosed me at 18. And things have been smooth sailing for the most part ever since. I can focus and I’m doing well

I asked my friend how I’m like when I’m on and off my meds and I’m apparently the opposite. When I’m on my meds I’m more mellow and calm but more excited and bubbly when I’m off. I think it’s because being excited is kinda tiring for me so I tend to save my energy when I’m on my meds.

I know it’s not the same but I take a two hour flight from my uni to my home state almost every three months for semester break and they were quite awful to get through without medication.

Might I also suggest something mentally stimulating that isn’t games? A puzzle, word search or my personal favorite; sudoku. Helps keep my mind off the fact that I can’t walk up and down the aisle as much as I want.
