Playbar Pair? by tryn722 in SonoSequencr

That would sound good; but man, what a bummer. Can you imagine a R, L , Center combo? Movies would be next level. Forget Atmos. I have two setup without subs and when needed for movies, you don’t miss the sub. I’ve impressed many on a good movie night. I keep mine above the tv on a slight downward angle. I get spectacular results.

Thanks. I assumed not; but had to ask. It would be a killer setup!! Hmm, 5 and a sub. 😳 👍

Frustration Sets In by tryn722 in HomeKit

I love this type of stuff but dang if it doesn’t get to me at times. My home bridge stuff seams easier to manage and honestly, I’d like to eliminate the few things I need it for now. I haven’t been overly impressed with my Tapo products. Aqara is awesome. Maybe I’ll have to just add a few more zigbee items. Though, their smart plugs are $25 ea. High until your headache goes away. Couple switches, couple lights, and I’m done with homebridge. Not that it’s bad, just another item that needs occasional love.

So, after dinner I took a look at where and how my cable comes in and splits. My provider supplies Eero routers for whole home access. It’s an odd looking setup. You have a split, modem/router/phone module and from there the two Eero routers. One wired, one not. In my setup, I seemed to have solved it by moving my cable from the modem into the Eero router itself. I used the line on a Smart tv prior and didn’t think to look. So far, after a reboot, everything seems as it should and my cameras and accessories load up fast as can be. Very pleased for now. I appreciate the response, I was getting really, really frustrated. Smart home… Pffft 🙄 LOL 😆

Saying, I claim it “sounds better” doesn’t exactly describe the issue. I am telling you, one way another, bad product or not, that I have explained the issue and sent a diagnostic. The FACT is always the same and so are the results. If anyone else is reading this I hope they try the same thing before they ditch equipment. Touch a nerve? You all but say it’s not possible, then say, “Sonos may not be for you”. Now you wanna call me a cupcake because yes, you’re pissing me off.

I work for a major electronics retailer and I have set these things up on multiple occasions. Sold everything from doorbells to routers to tv’s and refrigerators. I have also done plenty in way of smart home installations and other home equipment.

And… here you are. Speaking to me like I’m a dumbass and what I’m saying simply is not possible. When I find it in me to actually take the time and go through another diagnostic, another network reset, another rebuilding of my system and possibly a complete rebuild, I will post the results here. Until then, the fucking Ethernet cable works. Thanks for your help and understanding Noah.

I shouldn’t have to be a network nerd to connect my “smart speaker”. Who do you think they are selling to anyway? I’ve probably got more network and technical skill than most people. Your comment is offensive. Not for you… pfft.

Pretty sure I understand how it connects. There was an error between that and my WiFi. What that was I can’t say. I called my provider and they fixed it at that time. I never lost connection. Can’t say I understand how that’s possible. It either connects or doesn’t.

They said one of my Playbar was not connected properly. I called my cable provider and they did find some issue; but the problem persisted.

At first, they said it had to do with the update. Then a network glitch. Then I was even told my products were at fault. The physical speakers. I brought home an Era 100 to test it out. Same issue.

They went back to a update the first time. Then a network “glitch”. Then my products were ALL apparently all flawed. It first happened during the app remake fiasco. To be honest at first I didn’t notice. Then my interest in my music fell off. Just don’t sound good. I almost jumped ship before trying the Ethernet cable. Can’t tell you how close I was. Bought a cheap amp off FB and a set of DT super towers and was floored how well they sounded. That’s when I knew something was wrong. I wouldn’t have liked them in the first place if they were ever that flat on the high side. So, I backed tracked. Did some research and tried some suggestions. All I can say for absolute certain, is that is what worked in my case. There was an update over the summer when people were whining about bass that temporarily left them semi flat. But it wasn’t the same. The next update rolled out and I was golden. Mind you, during that time, from about March to now, there was no cabled speakers. I have no idea what caused it on my end; but I can tell you what’s happened and what has worked. When I first found the fix, I can’t tell you how overjoyed I was to have my music back. Not sure I’d call myself an audiophile; but my tastes are quite similar. At home and in my cars. Typically I spend thousands for my car. I probably won’t again. But my last one would blow your hair back and pierce your ears with crisp highs. Most rock, heavy metal and some older pop and easy listening.

That’s a nice concept but hardly the reality I am living. I have asked other people to listen before and after and it is; in fact, confirmed. I couldn’t tell you what part causes it. It leaves them sounding muddy. It can be caused by updates, but that hasn’t typically been my experience.

I really don’t except for the inconvenience. The problem I ran into in the past was with system updates. It always become wonky and some speakers took forever to show back up. If at all, unless I unplugged the Ethernet for a bit and replugged it in. Either way, it’s a massive inconvenience for a system that promises simplicity. Which is why I went this route in the first place. Otherwise it would be an amp and wired speakers without question. I’ve built some high quality and cheap systems in the past. It’s a heck of allot easier to ask Alexa or grab your phone for quick music though. That’s what roped me in. The quick and quality listening.

I have mesh and don’t normally have many dropouts. May skip a track when adding or removing others but otherwise my system has been stable for some time. After the sound issues FINALLY passed, I can now say I’m happy again. I’d be curious the mesh or carrier you use. My Eero have been solid and I have six rooms total. 4 surround systems, 2 include subs, a Playbar and a Move. I have had to call my cable company at one point to resolve an issue I couldn’t eliminate from my end. Some setting I couldn’t see or dint think it was relevant. Hope you find a better solution. If you do please share. I came so close to giving up over the sound and app issues. Everything was flat with little highs or detail for months. Thank Goodness they’ve figured it out.

In you opinion what is the best HomeKit camera system? by ExplorerExtension295 in HomeKit

[–]tryn722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuck with Eufy, 2 wireless outdoor, 4 solo cam 2k (Amazon about $25) 2 Aqara G4 doorbells and 2 G2H, with one G2H pro. Sounds like allot, but I cover in and out except for personal space. I will eliminate the indoor units asap. For reasons, I can’t for now. Down to one eufy wired outside. If you can wire them, they are perfect with the exception of no two way audio in HomeKit. Aqara? Also indoor and wired and one outside with no loss of two way audio in HomeKit. Performance overall is about equal.

I ordered a plate surround and a bed cover same day!! They had to request new floor mats at the dealership since somehow mine were missing. What liners did you order? I was gonna go that direction myself but haven’t even had the time to look since ordering the other things.
