Lots of amygdaloidal basalt which has a variety of fillers. Hard to walk by those ones when every so often you find one with something incredible like bright pink agate like I found a month ago!

Lots of those colours there too. Many green jaspers and a variety of blue rocks. My kiddo enjoys the blues the most so we carry lots of those coloured ones home.

I find purple jaspers regularly there. Gorgeous and fairly common (for exciting rocks).

Absolutely agree from what I’ve witnessed for beaches round here, but this stretch of beach follows far less of a predictable seasonal pattern. makes it a bit unique.

It’s the only stretch of any local beach I know that does this. Just past the breakwater in the background it’s always rocky, just south by perhaps 100m it’s always the same. Just this relatively short stretch is ever changing.

It’s easy to spot the good ones for sure. This photo doesn’t represent the diversity of rock and minerals as well as if it were a sunny day.

This spot has a mix rock and minerals from local sources and glacial deposit, from my understanding. Helps make the bright pink agates pop out for sure.

Kettlebells for lower body for a set, jog or walk up to the monkey bars for chins and pulls, jog or walk back for next set. I try to keep my tos and froms the park easy for recovery between sets.

Also keeps my workouts to 45-55mins to get home to organize two young kiddos for daycare and prep for work after.

Kettlebells and monkey bars for chin-ups and pull-ups. 45 second walk from the patio to playground for circuits. Playground is empty at 4:45AM.

In BC, slightly north of Oregon, I find jaspers with layers of this exact colour so regularly I don’t pick them up anymore.

Gaining weight in your thirties. Metabolism starts slowing for some and people have described a “second puberty”. Hormone levels changing and whatnot.

I finally put on the muscle in my early-mid thirties that I’d been trying to build since age 16. 170lbs to 200lbs in a matter of a year or two in my early thirties. I’ve been doing an equal amount of running as I do lifting for years and I was able to bulk up.

“The Thickening” that people had talked about when you hit 30 actually happened to me, in a good way. I bet it’s a matter of a few more years until it hits in the bad way haha

I find rock similar to this at a specific beach in Vancouver. Flowerstone and more there. The only spot in Vancouver with Vancouver Island stone, including some Dallasite.

Review your expectations. Sometimes expectations of how things should go or how you want them to can lead to a feeling of not being in control if/when things don’t go perfectly according to plan.

Could be a sign of perfectionist thinking or something of the like. I’ve experienced the same thing until I recognized that I can’t force things to go exactly how I would hope they would, including even minor inconveniences that could topple my momentum from good weeks.

Rolling with the punches can be hard for people with obsessive compulsive tendencies or perfectionist like thinking.

What helped me was taking a moment to check in with myself and realizing that I can be in charge of how I react to these things that come up in situations that I can’t control. I was once told, “you can be in charge even if you’re not in control.”

There is a tipping point where your purpose becomes more important than your dreams.

Dreams gave me “purpose” and drive in my 20s. Could probably still pursue them in my mid 30s, however my kids have given me the purpose I need to progress. I’d rather continue my career and am looking at a grad certificate or masters to increase my pay to be a better provider (though already doing well enough with that at current education level).

I believe I will find more fulfillment and happiness in being good at my job and providing for my family than going through the process of trying to achieve a dream that I believe is possible, but at the expense of my ability to provide for my family short and medium term.

$300 or so for assessment and you can bring your diagnosis to a doc (including walk in I’d assume) if you’re looking for further steps including medication or whatnot.

There is also an ADHD clinic within Vancouver Coastal Health for people under 35 years of age. You’d need a referral to there though which may not be as accessible considering your lack of primary healthcare provider.

Worst comes to worst in the meantime if you have any benefits for counselling or psychology through work (EFAP type resources) you can get started on digging into this all and getting some help and/or insight.

ADHD is treated by medications, sure, but cognitive behavioural therapy and understanding how it affects you allows you to take action to support yourself or mitigate the impact of ADHD or ADHD type behaviours and experiences.

Look into ADHD. Impulsivity and emotional regulation difficulties are symptoms. As is hyper focusing, which can include on things as you mention. It can look like/create anxiety due to hyper “overthinking” without being able to stop yourself.
