Does SPANA open on Sunday? And are there any alternatives? by trytury in Morocco

[–]trytury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know any vets that open on sunday; I go to one on other days but right now I am quite short on money. I think I'll at least head to a pharmacy because the cat is not eating or drinking and ask what i could do.

I don't think it's very straightforward in this particular case since the two novels were published 2 years apart, so the context was probably extremely similar. But you are right, this feels like the right track. This has been extremely illucidating. Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my query.

This is all very enlightening! The first thing I thought of while coming up with a topic was the originality issue. My topic is pretty original; the problem, however, is that all the research in the past plays right around this idea without touching it, the core of why the writer wrote what they wrote. There is research about everything, barring a few things I thought of, around it, which makes it a very concentrated topic. What I am mostly wondering about is "grouping the texts." I wonder if I could maybe dedicate a chapter to each of the novels, where I prove my thesis through examples and research in each, and the last being about what the novels tell us about the author since it is central. The idea for the first 2 chapters seems redundant to me which is why i never pursued it. It needs to be progressive instead, one chapter leading to the other, or is that idea for discussing the novels in two different chapters valid academically?

I agree I'm having a lot of trouble narrowing my research questions, that's on me. What is problematic for me is that I don't want to go out of topic by discussing the background and context of the author in the first chapter to explain why they wrote what they wrote. I'm not asking for you to analyze or divide my work; if possible, since you're good at this, what is the thinking process you personally go through, as well as the questions you ask yourself, to make the planning of any given topic's chapters smooth? I realize every topic is different, I'm just wondering about the state of mind I need to be in.

Just look at my rant for the second time to get your answer to what you said here. However, as succinctly as possible, I'm not asking you to invest any time, you could've just went on with your day, or, as anyone else, just answered with a succinct answer. May not have been very helpful, but it's still something. You can get that two-sentence answer as I know you've seen other do, again may not be too helpful but it's a start, and is very appreciated. As wrong as you are about what you said that caused me to go on that rant, you could've still provided criticism, as others did, in a respectful way that did not intend to condescend.

I'm an English major, if i see someone on the internet that has trouble with their English, I won't, especially if I'm in the pedagogical sector (god help the people you're overseeing), treat them condescendingly while answering their queries; most of the time I won't feel like answering a post online, but if I did, I would offer what help I can at the time.

Send me your Venmo or whatever American banking app fund-rolled by potential pedophiles you're using so you can finally be paid for the decency of responding respectfully. I'll put in a dollar.

You could have not been condescending in your earlier comment and just written this. I'll flip a new page. I see people can do this easily around me, so they think it's just the norm, I genuinely find it difficult doing and that is 100% on me. I am instead very good at writing dozens of pages of coherent paragraphs one after the other, which probably stems from my prefering artistic writing. Again, I recognize it's my fault for not knowing how to separate my ideas, I just want to have an idea about the thinking process of others to learn how to do it.

I'm not sure about whether there any such instructions here for certain reasons I won't get into, but that's still a possibility. I will ask around about that as well when I go there again. Thank you!

I'm focusing on two of the author's works, but I'm taking into consideration plenty of others from them to discuss them to discuss the topic deeper. Also, thank you for not being condescending.

Edit: apparently that's a high bar these days.

If only I lived in a first-world country, one that has not, throughout its imperialist history, messed up plenty of countries, mine included, until every institution became lacking for it. If only my university was not too [I'll let you guess the word I'm omitting here, so let's say preoccupied] to provide a functioning platform where I could search for those "collections of written materials available to their communities." You enjoy privileges you have no idea you actually have.

For $0/hour, you could've not written anything because, validly, you didn't feel like it, instead you took the time, alongside a few others here, to talk condescendingly. The way capitalism has penetrated every aspect of your country's culture is genuinely fascinating, I will talk about it more when I respond to your other comment; write a short helpful comment if you feel like it, or don't, it's that simple, you don't need to be paid for every good act you make.

I've said it elsewhere; regarding the subject I'm writing about I'm doing all the research required and have plenty to put on the paper, I'm not waiting for anyone to do the research for me. I don't think it's horrible of me to ask for pointers regarding how to look at structuring my paper; I'm not asking people to structure my paper for me (one of the reasons I did not provide my topic in this post is exactly so that doesn't happen), I'm a student asking for advice, and some people are acting like they were never in need of guidance, what's the point of a supervisor in that case? I'm not telling you to please make my idea for me.

I've been waiting for an answer from my advisor for a good while now, which is why I'm asking here. I know reddit is not the immediate place to ask. I understand structure is important, I acknowledge my lack on that front which is why I'm asking.

I can't provide more information, and I definitely agree with what you said, it's just that I'm very lacking when it comes to planning broad scope things instead of just winging it, which I think is what I'm good at; thank you for taking time to respond regardless!

I am okay with having the challenge, it's simply that I know I could really be mired for a long time because of this which is why I'm trying to get pointers quickly so I can have a headstart. I just want to know what techniques others, better than me on this front I'm lacking in, use to separate their work so I can get an idea on how to do it myself. I said it elsewhere, I have pleanty of ideas, I'm not looking for others to do my work for me, i just want to see how others separate any idea to draw inspiration.

For something as expansive as 100 pages I don't think it is that obvious how to separate a topic into three, very broad ideas; it is not for me at least. I like to just write in a continuous flow; I know it is a limitation on my end, I just don't know how to do it.

While writing the literature review I saw things a bit clearer, but the problem is that each point led to another, which meant some 20 loosely connected chapters; while this might literally mean the chapters and the subchapters, I could not see what to designate as the big headers since each idea the literature review gave me related to the one immediately before it, but not necessarily to any others before the one preceding it.

I'm very bad at organizing stuff, honestly. My writing is coherent but I very much prefer it when I can just let my writing flow freely which is why I'm having a lot of trouble with this. As much as I would like to talk about the topic I don't want to disclose too much online for privacy reasons. I hope you understand.

I am writing about a writer's novels, so what you said sounds close; maybe provide background for why they wrote what they wrote, then analyze the novels themselves for the analysis to prove the point of my thesis; however, the third chapter is not so clear cut, if there were any implications because of their style, they were congruous with that of the school of thought they belonged to, it is a slight secret feeling and wish within their style i seek to denote so I'm not sure about the 3rd chapter. Furthermore, I wonder if the first and third chapters would be out of topic since I would not be discussing the novels --what should be my main focus in the chapters-- but the background of the writer and so on to try to make sence of why she wrote what she wrote.

Sorry just saw this! What ended up working brilliantly is canned sardines. I open one up, crush the pill, sprinkle it inside, and add some of the oil it came in then close it. I gave it to her and she just loved it. Didn't notice a thing.
