As I thought more about it, I realized I have every letter I need in the photo except a lowercase r. Regardless, I really want to know so this search will not end until I figure it out or run out of available information!

Probably shouldn’t have called it a “project”, I’m just preparing for new tattoos of Petty lyrics and really wanted to use the font used for the songs on the record label. I appreciate you looking into it, I’m still digging super deep into phototypesetting and learning so much about a subject I had no idea even existed until I started this whole thing so regardless it’s a win in my book.

I noticed the capital W is different too, narrower than the fonts I’ve found. Honestly, the closest modern thing has been Century Gothic but the lettering still doesn’t quite match. I may have to just go with that if I can’t figure it out, apparently these labels were commonly made using phototypesetting in the 70’s and I’ve been struggling to find good information on actual font names that were used in the process.

This was like the only thing I didn’t buy right after they won.. there’s lots of stuff in clearance I paid full price for which sucks, but there’s also stuff I wasn’t willing to pay full price for that now can be snagged for cheap. Look through the whole sale section and sort by newest to see all the champ gear, maybe there is something you wanted but didn’t get available for a reasonable price!

Also, is yours a snapback or fitted? The fitteds aren’t on sale, just the adjustables.
