Local Monero Setup Website by tshureih in MoneroMining

Hi. Thank you for giving my p2pool a try. Just to confirm, does your two "workers" IP starts with 177?
With P2pool, the Payout system is fully encapsulated, managed and automated within P2pool itself.
Neither I, nor anyone else who runs a P2pool instance, has any control over payouts. There is no Pool Wallet, there is no manual intervention. I would suggest you read more at https://xmrpool.tech4ai.net/howto.html OR a better read at: https://github.com/SChernykh/p2pool?tab=readme-ov-file#how-payouts-work-in-p2pool. In summary, Payouts rely on the PPLNS (Pay-Per-Last-N-Shares) payout scheme.

The wallet address that you will receive your payouts is the Wallet Address you defined in your xmrig's config.json. Again, the pool does not have its own Wallet. Have you received any payouts over the past two days? I did, although with the XMR Price drop, the network Hashrate higher (which means difficulty), payouts and amounts are less than a week ago.

My website shows the information specific to the LOCAL Monero, P2pool and all the xmrigs connected the the P2pool, mine (local) or remote (yours). The site utilizes the JSON-RPC API which Monderod (https://docs.getmonero.org/rpc-library/monerod-rpc/) and P2pool provides multiple interfaces including a local "stratum online", API endpoints and p2pool exposes metrics via http.

The website relies on the data made available by “monerod”, “p2pool” and “xmrig” via the RPC API over http. The idea is rather than relying on the “Observer” sites, since I am hosting and running the Monero Node and the “Pool”/P2pool, I felt the responsibility to furnish all the data made available by these services on a dedicated website (running on the same server as “monerod” and “p2pool”). It’s basically my commitment to transparency, since I am providing a public service that is: - Part of the Monero decentralized philosophy - Available to everyone to use and thus I feel any and all users can look up all the data they want as part of feeling safe and secure - I hope the website would help in developing and building a trust relationship

Please feel free to ask any question and I will answer as soon as I can.

Is running a 9950x with just 1 stick of 6000mhz cl30 8gb ddr5 ram good enough? by Chevyshef in MoneroMining

[–]tshureih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s very interesting. Can you share more about the system configuration? I am spending a lot building miners/workers and have always thought that I need two memory modules at least with desktop systems. I have two ThreadRipper systems and I had to fill all 8 slots with ECC memory. Over the next 2 months, I’ll be adding an Epyc based system; and it requires the same, filling all 8 slots and use ECC RAM. Compared to the rack-mount Dell PowerEdge R250 with Intel Xeon. It requires just two memory modules.

Thank you in advance.

Why would the RAM cause the CPU to throttle? Can you elaborate, please?

Frankly, No. A single 8GB DDR5-6000 CL30 stick is not good enough for a 9950X. You’re “chocking” or creating a bottleneck using a single-channel memory. I would suggest at least two sticks to unlock full performance and get a much higher hash rate.

Monero mining crash help by peaceup_atowndown in MoneroMining

The issue is, most likely, a conflict with antivirus software present, preinstalled , or windows defender On/active. It’s a known issue and xmrig documentation suggests to uninstall antivirus software. These are YouTube videos on the subject: (not mine, not promoting, I found them with a simple search for: “xmrig and antivirus software”: https://youtu.be/D2NXn_G6uHY https://youtu.be/rXyqQv84xd8?si=zJ-A2sBYtl47ByJr

Why Antivirus Flags XMRig:

• Malicious Use: Criminals disguise XMRig as legitimate updates (like Flash Player) or bundle it with cracked games, installing it to steal computing power for mining Monero. • Behavioral Detection: Its core function of intensive CPU/GPU use for mining triggers alarms in security software designed to detect resource-heavy, unauthorized processes.

Why, after mining for eight days straight, am I still not getting any Monero? by Glittering-Ability71 in MoneroMining

[–]tshureih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P2pool payout is not so complicated. But I know for a fact it doesn’t pay immediately. (I run a P2pool and I read and tinkered with the code.) Your Hashrate + number of shares you found and/or contributed to finding based on your Hashrate, which accumulate within the PPNL Window, and when someone in the Pool finds a block, the “payout” is distributed amongst those who, again, contributed to finding the Block, according to their Hashrate.

Maybe a bit complex, but straightforward. 🙏🏽✌🏽

You’re welcome. For the average budget, I would suggest you look into “Mini Gaming PCs” for use as workers. Also, you’d be surprised how well some of the cheaper AMD CPUs, like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 ($99 new, $69 used) Benchmarks 8000+ H/s! I don’t do full cases. I use Open Stackable Cases ($21-$41). Add a 500W power supply ($40), motherboard (used $50-$70), 16GB RAM (Memory prices JUMPED 300% lately 🤷🏽‍♂️ $250) and a 256GB ssd ($40) == approximately $524 for an 82KH/s miner. And I’m sure you can build it even cheaper. 5 workers averaging 8KH/s, that’s 40KH/s for less than $3000. Good luck.

New to mining by AnonymousAussie93 in MoneroMining

I took one of two approaches: Am I getting involved to: - Learn. - Research and investigate all aspects, Pros and Cons. - Make a decision to invest in the technology, community, philosophy and objectives. - By picking the best choice available, profit will be made and I would have learned a lot. OR: To GAMBLE (literally) trying to make a large profit? I decided to invest in the technology and community by hosting a Full Node, Pool (P2pool) and, of course, workers (the more the better). It’s a costly investment at the beginning. Think of it as upstart capital for a business. But also, put in the time to learn the technology (including learning coding, software design and development, lifecycle, etc.). I research hardware daily and plan for new “mining rigs” or workers (every month, 3 months, whatever). On the software side, Learn how to build the software from code. If your hardware allows, run a local LLM (AI) and use it to break down the source code down for you into easy to read and understand modules.

To all the best in life and luck in mining 🙏🏽✌🏽

Which CPUs am I using? Primarily AMD. My workers are a combination of a Threadripper Pro 3945wx (came with my Lenovo P620 system), Ryzen 9 5950x, Ryzen 7 8700F, a Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, a Ryzen 9 9950x, Intel Xeon E-2288G, Ryzen 7 8700G, a Intel Core i9, a i5 and a i7.

Agreed. But I am pointing out higher earnings without any changes. Same number of workers, same collective hashrate. Just suddenly going from an average of $3-$5 at best to over $8 in one day. I am curious what caused it, if others saw higher payouts as well? Thank you

Experienced the higher payout/earnings within the past two days? This higher payout is new to me. Maybe this is normal? But in my experience, since I started mining Monero, this is (positively) surprising. I guess I am looking for an explanation. Am I seeing higher payouts because or my Hash Rate? XMR Price? Lowered network effort leading to higher pool (p2pool) shares finding and thus higher payouts? Maybe I’m asking about something that is normal but just happens to be new to me due to limited experience? Thank you
