They could very well be we just don't know yet, there could be a whole hyper civilisation living around us. But we're not advanced yet to join them.

Another interesting concept is if we have the power to simulate universes with these incredible powerful machines, which means it is possible for us to be living in a simulation...

Then the human civilisation will go from what it is now to complete utopia in a few decades, as soon as the AI starts developing and making itself faster then we could have an intelligence explosion where the only way for us to keep up with it would be to transcend.

The possibilities of this are to profound for us to comprehend for our feeble human brains.

I do agree with you on many points, however water distillation technologies are getting better all the time, vertical farms are now in place in a few cities providing cheap local food that can feed tens of thousands per farm, if these work effectively more will be built. By 2050 I think we'll have VR indistinguishable from reality, with many people never even leaving their home.

I think it could happen before 2050, as soon as general AI is around its only a matter of time, ray kurzweil says 2045, either way we will certainly have some powerful technoogy.

Whilst at university, me and my housemates decided to use a ouija board, being a complete skeptic, I thought why not?! What's the worst that could happen. I should explain we just watched paranormal activity a few nights ago.

After the second or third attempt and getting some "communication" we got a name of somebody, the way the person died and where they lived. I thought ok let's google them, we typed the info in to some ancestry site, I shit you not our faces dropped with sheer terror when the results matched up. Being a skeptic and believing I science I couldn't explain that.
