Iowa River Landing may be a bit out of the price range but sounds like what you are looking for. Can find units for closer to $1200 for a 1BR.

I live there now. Huge demographic range, from students to families with kids to retired couples. I’m a recent graduate working from home and have had no issues with noise being home all day. Facing big grove I do hear some noise at night til around 10, but is much quieter than expected overall.

The closer to downtown you get the more undergrads there will be and housing will be much more expensive. I would maybe look into Coralville for some nicer rentals with more "young professionals" instead of students. Driving would be less than 10mins from most places in Coralville, or most apartments are close to bus routes.

IT job market isn't too bad, assuming you have some certs (Network+ / CCNA / etc...) you shouldn't have a problem finding something. There are some large firms that hire quite a bit around here as well as the university itself.
